  1. Gastro to post first results ?? Steve S. ....3 lbs 0.5 ozs. Alun J. .....2 lbs 13 ozs. We had an enjoyable day on Gastronaught....esp as there was very little wind all day; though that air is still chilly...so we were well wrapped up. Bream action was never frantic, but it was steady through most of the day with a good stamp of fish. Honours to Steve with both the biggest and the most...[ I said it was that side of the boat...and it always does better for me when on my own !!] Bonus was the appearance of some mackerel...that kept us busy over slack water...and some good sized wrasse on lures whilst we waited for tide to run.. Things are on the up !! Alun.

    Is Alderney fished out?

From an inexperienced sea angler I would hazard a guess in saying it's not limited to Alderney. Alderney has just taken longer to feel the pinch. A growing world population with greater demand for food can only negatively impact natural resources.

  4. Myself and Andrew from our welsh section ventured up to Llyn Padarn set in the Snowdonia National Park. We have been working closely with the charity change step , A team of veteran peer mentors who use their own experiences to help veterans confront challenges in their lives, and to navigate and engage with support services throughout Wales. Fresh from going up the country’s highest mountain Snowdon , our veterans were given some brief paddle skills training before spending an hour touring the lake in groups of three . Some even demonstrated some enviable self rescue techniques 😀 A cracking day afloat with a great group of lads and lass in a stunning location .👍
