  1. Craig one of our How coaches has spent the last two years coaching abroad (Hong Kong , Indonesia) , but being home in Wales for the week before going out to Norway offered to run a paddle workshop . Richard and Stephen jumped at the opportunity , spending the morning with Craig and trustee Martin , even having time before breaking for lunch to practice self and assisted rescues . Lunch concluded both the lads wanted to have a little fish , and despite suffering from historical back pain , were soon out on the water casting and trolling lures . Martin soon , aided by local knowledge , was amongst the jacks but it was Stephen who let out a scream of surprise when having hooked up the pike went airborne. Another brilliant fish , and a first from the kayak on Only Stephens second outing . . When asked when they wanted to meet up again the answer of “tomorrow “ wasn’t totally unexpected 😁

    Memories

An old gentleman at the allotments came up to me a couple of days ago and said, as I go fishing, would I like one or two bits of gear he has as he can't go anymore. Not expecting much, I humoured him and accepted. What I received, apart from some dated and worn end gear, were two reels in pristine condition, in their original boxes. One was a multiplier with a metal spool, a Penn Dexta and a fixed spool casting reel, an Intrepid Surfcast. I haven't heard the Intrepid name for years, they were made by the firm K.P. Morritt, and were standard fare back in the 50's/60's. Nostalgia is a thing of the past.

    Flatfish Competition

Thanks guys! Been a while since I won a comp... come to think of it..... been a while since I fished one! With JV still awaiting repair a very generous offer of a guest spot on Tigerfish came at just the right time. I’ve not enjoyed a days fishing so much for ages. Super comfy, super fast boat and great weather and I bagged a few turbot! For once I felt rested and relaxed upon getting back in. Thanks Steve. Fishing was tough but light leads and really concerntrating on bait presentation helped 4 flatties onboard... the biggest a real last minute.com literally the last rod I wound in!
