  6. My largest plaice was around 15oz but gutted by the crew on the way home, so unknown weight,πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ 🀣🀣🀣🀣 had 5-6 in the day but all small. Beautiful day to be out, and a Doombar to Finnish Loverly 😜

  8. Having purchased a lovely new to me boat, I’m still to get out and go fishing . So far the vhf radio has packed up and been replaced. Engine has been serviced then developed an oil gasket leak. All the silicone in the deck has been cut out and removed as was leaking through in to the lazarettes . Wednesday I finally managed to find a window to go have a short blast, took a couple of mates and headed off. It was quite choppy so just ended up going for lunch in ocean village instead of cowes. All good on the way there but, half way home the engine dropped revs from 3200 to 2500 then down to 2200 with a WOT speed of just 10knotts . Oh flip I thought!! Turns out the choppy conditions had stirred up a load of sludge from the bottom of the tanks and blocked the filters. Glad it wasn’t anything more terminal but now I need to add having the tanks drained, cleaned and fuel polished to my expanding list of things to do!! Have not been fishing since mid December , really starting to become an annoyance. On the other hand the weather has not been brilliant and I’ve got a tan from holiday !! Thinking that this season is going to be a complete right off !!! [emoji3525] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Most boats will have a slight list which in some may not show until underway. This can be caused by numerous reasons a few of which are: weight distribution, batteries can add a lot of weight to one side, distribution of crew, when underway prop torque in single engined boats can be a big factor, wind and tides can cause listing. I have this problem on my boat which is weather dependant. Answer can be as simple as using trim tabs which is all I do with wind/tide induced listing. Re Rodman's having double skin, mine doesn't not sure about other models though. Good luck with sorting your issues, it will be worth it in the end

    Diesel tank sludge

Once you've cleaned it out Neil you might want to put some diesel treatment in the tank as it sounds like it may have had the bug at some time. I've always used " Fuel Set" on mine, had boat for 10 years now and touch wood never had sludge problem even after being in rough conditions.

    sand eel trawl

Good luck with a trawl Nigel, I had one for two seasons the only thing I caught was tons of weed and baby flatties!!! I tried all times of the day and tides times, they are there but you have to work for them now. They were hammered years ago locally and used in zoos for birds etc, nearly wiped them out. Back in the day, and and and β€”β€”- 😩😩
