Out with Ken with a view to target rays - wrong.
Ist stop was off ballard in a 2 knot tide - a littler too much for rays generally - but not for the mini pirannah-like black bream which wrecked every large bait we put down instantly. After a couple of hours we moved to the ray mark and suffered the same consequences - as witnessed by Sparky last Friday. Last resort was to drift for plaice at the training bank - 2 hours later not a sniff from a plaice but for four feisty tubs we eventually had a bend in our rods. A brief drift in ther harbour also blanked.
Even the lazy mackerel lines were fishless - no surprise there then..
