  3. The biggest issue is that it was recommended by the consultation input that they increase the distance from 100mtrs to 200mtrs from all pier structures, however they have ignored RSA's (again) and put the minimum distance for nets as 100mtrs! Many anglers can cast over 100mtrs and will be snagging these nets, this is most common around Swanage pier. Netters will also find that their nets will drag inshore during a storm and it becomes more of a danger to not only swimmers but boat traffic of all kinds. It also does not allow shore fishermen to get a chance of catching a decent fish. It has been recommended that as many people as possible write to Southern IFCA to complain about this. There will be another public consultation when they have drafted the by-law but before it has been passed by MMO but I suspect it will be too late to get any amendments in by that time. I am trying to get a copy of the draft document before it is approved by the Technical committee of Southern IFCA but it is a bit difficult to locate at the moment, if I find it I will post it here as it will be in the public domain so no issues over publication.
