Thanks guys for the birthday greetings. Only managed a beach walk on Sunday but did get out on the 22nd on 6 miles, glassy smooth to start and came across loads of gulls sat on water near cruise ship, just missed all the action ... Caught whiting, dogs and a couple of straps before got too rough for Bridget ...4 points

one benefit of a smaller boat, i can fish from the same seat i drive in! i think this year i am going to make use of the navionics app on my phone as well to get a better view of the bottom features while using the sonar on my fixed screen.1 point -

Practice casting on grass. Get a tennis ball and put a slit into it which will allow lead to be inserted. Cast will not become stuck on a grass surface and will allow you to improve your technique .1 point
