  1. Hi guys. as a member of bbosaa i hope as many of you as possible make the journey up. there will be congers, rays and doggies where ever you anchor up but as a relative newbei i can't help you too much. i am hoping to be there on our boat "natalie jane" so say hello if you see me. there are a few bass coming out at the moment and the smoothies have just started to show around the lilstock area so by the time you guys come hopefully it will be in full swing. mainly uptiding but if downtiding you will only need 12lb class gear as most of the fishing is in under 25ft of water. only medium sized tides as well so most marks will be fishable with 3oz of lead. bait wise rag, crab and squid will catch most species that swim in the channel. hope this helps and you will certainly find the club to be very helpfull and if your lucky simon will even be down to help with the launching on his tractor!
  2. have a safe crossing and catch plenty once over there. looking forward to the reports. hopefully get our boat out in the brissy channel at the weekend but must admit i am a wee bit envious of you guys fishing that loverly clear water.
  3. i envy you guys at the mo. the brissy channel is fishing so bad at the mo we haven't taken our boat out since 4th jan. got a charter out of penarth on saturday so hopefully things will have improved a bit and we might get a few spurs.
  4. looks like i may have this wrong then chaps. just looked at our fixtures and we are in poole that weekend and put 2&2 together and got 5 maybe just an away fixture for our club.
  5. just got my club book and see we have a comp with you guys Aug 1-2nd. What will the target species be and how many boats will you expect to turn up? Unfortunately i am expecting to be on holiday then but if plans change then i wolud be very interested in bringing our tub down.

thanks for the welcome guys. the channels fishing well for rays and eels with fish baits the best for the better ones. rag and squid cocktails will catch a surprising amount of straps upto low doubles and the bass should start to show too. how are the wrecks fishing your way at the mo?

Hi everyone, My name is Richard and i am new here. I have a share in a seahog commodore but it is kept up at the bristol channel so my south coast fishing is limited to charters and the beach. cheers.
  9. Hi everyone my name is Richard and i am new to this site (as a poster) and also new to small boat angling. I have been charter fishing mainly the south coast for over 20 years and recently bought a seahog commodore with family members. our boat is kept at burnham where my parents have moved to and we joined the b.b.o club. We have found the club to be superb and every member is only to keen to help. we have only got our boat out about 4 times this year due to dodgy weather but we were out sunday and had a good day with congers, rays, whiting and a doggie. Basicly if you can make it up to Burnham then go you will be made very welcome and the fishing should be o.k. Unfortunately i have a charter booked out of Lymington on Saturday or else i would be there. good luck all who go.
