Hydeaway is now going out on monday at about 9.15 to make sure we don't have tide problems at PBM. I know that Adam is planning to go a bit later but we can meet up out there - we promise to leave a few for you Mike
  2. Great day out apart from idiots which came full speed through all the anchored fishing boats. Yes, there plenty of those yesterday. Just a thought - but I wonder if they are the same people who drive 6 inches from your back bumber and then barely leave the inside lane when overtaking. I think I may have relayed this before but last year had the pleasure of seeing one of the 'buzzing' boats steam between 2 craft anchored close together and onto a fishing buoy which fouled his prop and brought hime to a grinding halt! Mike
  3. Thanks for good wishes chaps! Have been off air due to knee surgery and only now becoming more active. I thought I had passed on my apologies re recent meetings but perhaps I forgot. I had originally planned to go on the Alderney trip, Alun, but knew that I would need fairly experienced crew as I will still not be fully active by then. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though I shall be able to make it. Ann and I went out in the 'new' boat on Sunday just for a potter along the coast and it was wonderful to get out on the sea again. I am really looking forward to some fishing trips. See you soon. Mike
  4. I would love to bring the new Hydeaway (Merry Fisher 925) along but would need experienced crew even if going with other boats. I could take 2 in comfort. Mike
  5. Yes Rob. Something to keep the memsahib and me happy - oh dear that sounds like a challenge. Purchase not yet completed - will tell you more soon. Mike
  6. I may be missing the point - if so ignore this - but I use a program called JpegSizer and find that it works very well. You can try it out for free. JpegSizer Mike

    Speed

When you speak to the PHC staff they talk about the main channel still being 10 knots max in winter. I take it that they mean where the channels meet and through the Haven area. As I said before, I cannot see that being enforced but presume they are trying to restrict the speed at the busiest point. Mike
  8. My Merry Fisher 695 is for sale. It is 2003 build in immaculate condition with only 130 engine hours and is very well specked with Furuno Radar, Plotter and separate Fishfinder. Lots of fishing extras. It is on sale at Parkstone Bay Marina. For full details see Parkstone Bay Marina Website Page 3. Please note the length is not 20' - it is 6.99 metres or 22' 11". Do contact me on 07776 453576 or Tom Bettle on 01202 724917. Mike

I don't know if anyone else has heard this, but there is a rumour going about that the new Harbour Master would like to keep the summer speed restriction in place for the whole year. Certainly there is no change for this winter and from 1st October until 31st March the restriction is removed for all areas apart from the 'quiet areas' and, believe it or not, the main channel where, I understand, the 10 knot limit still applies. Whether anyone enforces a winter 10 knot limit in the main channel I do not know, but I have my doubts. Mike
  10. I am rather late on this topic but have only just watched the first program. I was looking forward to an evening in watching them whilst the memsahib was out for a girly evening, but I am afraid I have deleted them all. What absolute rubbish and presented in such a childish way. Just the sort of ammunition the anti fishing lobby is looking for. Mike
  11. Good luck to all tomorrow! Family committments dictate I shall not be with you. Went out today. Fabulous weather and calm sea. Masses of joeys near Old Harry. That's the good news. The bad news is that my bass catching skills still need a lot of work.
  12. Martin, Yes please - XL Mike
  13. I tried opening up the attachment but it comes up as gobbledegook. What format have you used to create it?
  14. Can I have an XL T Shirt please. Mike
  15. Reference to Southern Sea Fisheries minimum sizes leads me to question, what does the club use - this list or the NFSA one? Perhaps the answer is somewhere obvious and I should have spotted it - if so, apologies.
