Two women are chatting in office. Woman 1: I had sex last night, did you? Woman 2: Yes. Woman 1: Was it good? Woman 2: No, it was a disaster... my husband came home, ate his dinner in three minutes, got on top of me, finished having sex in five minutes, rolled over and fell asleep in two minutes. How was yours? Woman 1: Oh it was amazing! My husband came home and took me out to a romantic dinner. After dinner we walked for an hour. When we came home he lit the candles around the house and we had an hour of foreplay. We then had an hour long session of fantastic sex and afterwards talked for an hour. It was like a fairytale! At the same time, their husbands are talking at work. Husband 1: You wanted sex last night, how was it? Husband 2: Great. I came home, dinner was on the table, I ate, screwed my wife and fell asleep. It was great! What about you? Husband 1: It was horrible. I came home, there's no dinner because they cut the electricity because I hadn't paid the bill; so I had to take my wife out to dinner which was so expensive that I didn't have money left for a cab. We had to walk home which took an hour

Soz about your last minute let down .......... a bummer when you have planned a foray. My own experience of recovering alone is not the best.....but some of the guys do it often. Lovely day with light winds does make it easier. Bater is a very slack incline and trailer will travel quite a way down the slope to get into water..........watch out for the drop off at the end if you go in lower tide conditions ( a bugger to get back up onto the conc ). Wick is shorter and slightly steeper but still has a drop off at end.. Advice I was given is NOT to get trailer in too deep but to winch the boat onto the trailer when wheels are about axle deep. Hope it works for you. Good luck and stay safe Dave

Life according to google... Standing off and on, approaching the shore on one tack and receding from it on the other. keeping a general position possibly when too deep to anchor ?? or for a quick retreat ??or might it be the reference to being at anchor over several tides and just offering one tack ( Side ) to the shore at each change. Not sure about the other !! standing off and on OLD NAUGHTY TERMS Dave

Hi Mike Not a mechanic and not really sure but I had similar with the 2 stroke chainsaw and it was carb jets blocked.......jets very small and easily blocked. Those that know can sort it out quite easily. As soon as you throttle up the demand on the jets increases and they cannot respond. Hope it is that simple and you get it sorted easily. Dave

Well done Mark..........nice report as usual.......shame about the bream....or any fish come to that. Do you boys set your anchors to trip or slip so as bring it up from the front and avoid losses ??? I realise it is a bit different to being on a boat, but the slip method would be effective I think... Dave

Welcome Dave (what a great name !! ) I bought my first boat .....a 16.5ft microplus......last year with absolutely no knowledge at all. I joined the club about this time last year and to be honest it is a fast track to knowledge........I have learnt so much from this great bunch of experienced and helpful members at the club. I live quite local so I am able to go to meetings and social functions......well worth the effort. The guys and their families are a smashing group. Membership is now due so I expect the membership secretary is a busy man at the moment.....You say that you have sent off for the joining pack.....does that mean you have joined online ??? Easiest way if you are PC orientated. Anyway.......welcome and be safe. Dave

Hi eggie If you got a small boat and will be fishing ......you couldn't spend a better

An old retired sailor puts on his old uniform and heads for the docks once more, for old time's sake. He engages a prostitute and takes her up to a room. He's soon going at it as well as he can for a guy his age, but needing a little reassurance, he asks, ' How am I doing? ' The prostitute replies,' Well, Old Timer, you're doing about three knots.' 'Three knots?' he asks ,'what's that supposed to mean? She says, 'You're knot hard, you're knot in, and you're knot getting your money back.' Dave

I echo this .....as I am sure most of club members do, but as you say.....lack of funding.......Policing would be time consuming as well as expensive and I am sure there is an element of confusion about what is legal in our waters !! One of the easiest ways I suppose is the "golden mile rule" applying to all forms of fishing other than rod and line... Then you have the old chestnut of " how do you punish the misdemeanant ". Small fines, gear/net confiscation........ Or should it be a case of a high tech licence tag renewable each year implanted in the net rope.....any found without tag or without the correct buoys at each end are removed to a pound and nets will be destroyed if not claimed after 6 months while leads, ropes, floats and buoys etc can be recycled. All proceeds used to reduce the need for funding. Hey.....even this idea is flawed.......Illegal netters will find a way to elude the authorities and reduce their losses. Mine field .....Maybe the AT will be considering this as one of their policies for conservation. Like you and many others I am sure......I wish something could be done !! Dave
