  3. Paul D and i heard the following conversation between two charter boats over the VHF on Sunday " did you hear about the skipper who drowned in a bowl of Muesli ?--He got pulled in by a strong current!" The sarcastic response was " Fishings good then "
  4. Went out from Mudeford today with Paul D We planned to go to the Gully off Christchurch but the sea was so flat we went on to the Needles instead. No Cod but had steady action on the Whiting. It was so gentle that we got away with 4oz leads most of the time and the fish put in a good account of themselves. We got plenty of fish in the two pound range and a few to 3lbs. I got a double header with one just under and one just over 3lb on my 6lb class rod which was fun and had me thinking for a while as to what i had hooked. a nice relaxing day out in great conditions with some good sport- what a Joy Thanks Paul D
  5. Nice one Bob The one in the middle's a bit skinny

  15. We were out at the Spoils Wednesday Eve on Loyal Royal. Gorgious conditions but no fish a few whiting, doggies, Pout and a 20lb conger. All quiet on the Western front, then Marks rod went completly over and snappped at the butt while in the rod holder! Mark quickly grabbed the rod and bravely fought the thing with only 3 inches of Butt left past the reel! It went off like a rocket and It just kept taking line and more line. Mark finally stopped it and started getting some line back when the beast let go Would have liked to have seen it As James says"The Beast is down there"

    Needle ledge

It's the Bridge, a short strech of really narly tackle hungry water close in to the needles going west for a couple of hundred yards. Drift it for Bass only in calm conditions ! be careful
  17. how early can we sign in?
  18. In Order that we release fish that aren't going to win as quickly as possible. I suggest that we let everyone know by VHF the size of fish were holding on to. That way we won't have too many 40lb congers weighed in when theres a 60lb fish been caught. What do others think? Paul J
