People do ask me for fish,( they should know i never catch much!) you know the one " if you have any extra i'll have them" I never fish for other people, i only keep what i need

Hoggy, Very informative and interesting post. i've just finished customising my Penn Jigmaster with an accuarate frame and sideplates and so far i'm well chuffed. Still need a decent fish to test it properly though Paul J

The Blond Ray

Decided to go Cod Fshing with Duncan today but the weather was not looking good this morning. It was blowing some and didn't think we would be able to get out and armed with only squid, it looked like we had got it wrong. However we took a look outside and it seemed pretty flat so we followed the Truckline out to Ballard. The swell became apparent and it was looking doubtful, however we pressed on slowly while still making our mind up about wether it was going to be fishable or not. The further we got out the better it got and as we had wind with tide we decided to give it ago around the Spoil grounds. The fishing was slow for 3 of us, i got a Conger of 20-25lbs and our friends Dave and Phil got a few Dogs and a couple of Whiting. It definatley was Duncans day who got: A Cod of 18lbs, a Conger 30-35lbs, 2 Blonde Rays to 18lbs, some Whiting and i can't remember what else but i had a busy day netting fish! A very enjoyable day and good to see some fish being caught. Paul J

2 cr radio 102.3 fm were asking people to call in and let them know about fund raising activities. Mark B called them up and told them about the donations from us and Susuki and how the club members all voted to give up the prize money. It aired about 6:30pm tonight. It's all good press Well done Mark!

I went out to the Spoils. what a glorious day! sunshine and flat sea's, was i dreaming? I was out on Loyal Royal with Mark B Plenty of Whiting and Dogs but no Cod Paul J

Came across this old photo of some big Squid caught in the US during an El Nino year ( every 10 years or so) These wieghed 20 - 25lbs a piece and made plenty of mess as you can see

Paul, Thanks for the advise, The garage is very long but it's the height that's the issue 6ft 2" clearance unless i change the garage door from an up and over to a two door job which will give me 6ft 6ins Other than that it's go to battle with the missus over the drive way ( not advisable) Paul J

Had to say goodbye to a loved one today my boat Stepping Stone has gone to Devon. The bloke who bought it, knew the Website and called it excellent so the word gets about. I'll now be looking for something a little bigger
