Duncan,
You just need a container which you can tie on and throw overboard.
This will keep them alive overnight.
Lots of people use an old washing machine drum

Went out in Chrischurch harbour and soon found out that the repair i had done on the hull of my dingy had failed!
Water coming in fast after 50yds, a quick turn and back to the slip.-
It's 6:30am, the sun's shinning, the tides perfect, and i'm screwed.
I parked the boat and went to a shore mark in the harbour.
10 minutes later i'm hooked up to a good Bass which took my freelined Mackeral which was split right down the middle.
After letting it run on the rachet for a second, i set the circle hook solid and it was game on!. I turned the fish but it's next run broke me
.
I can only think that the ball weight had weaked the line, cause i had the rig on for a couple of trips.
It was a day of almost, but not quite

Triggers do fight well, speedy like bream but the power of big Wrasse.
taste good too, reckon they would be similar to Leather jackets for those of you who watch Rex Hunt

We were there on Jigabyte
Had a call on the radio and Nigel went to check it out ,we were at Ballard at the time.
Got there just before the RNLI Rib arrived. The crew were already aboard another boat so they were transferred onto the rib and taken ashore. Meanwhile the cruiser was drifting and smoking like a good un (good job it were neaps).
We didn't stay to see it explode as we were off fishing for tope, it was about 8am.
Fishing was a bit slow , we got 5 to 12lb
