  5. Mike, We have already written the book on Cocks ups and have added a few more chapters recently: "recent ones of note are : filling your unleaded tanks with deisel and launching straight onto the concrete slipway courtesy of new nylon rollers. You'd have to go some to beat that! Anyway, have not fished Poole recently so i'll leave that one to the locals Paul J

  8. It was great to be able to troll so close to the Island with no Swell to make us worried about crashing into the island or the rocks below. with the island protecting us from the NE wind it was stonking hot, so much so that we went in for a swim which chilled us down very quickly! We also saw a school of small bass chomping sandeels at the surface near the bridge. We tried a few lures through them but they were so tuned into a feeding frenzy that you had to match the hatch to have a chance of a hook up. one had a go at my surface popper but we never did get hooked up- great to watch though. Lovely day out and good fun. We bumped into the guys with the boat named Ultimate chaos at the Lymington Slip. We had a quick chat before they had to drive back to London - poor Sods Paul J

  20. Amazing sight especially in these waters Charlie, i wasn't fishing the comp, i got a few of hours in between 1pm-4pm but i was stuck in one spot due to engine problems. caught a coule of bream about 2.1/2lb but the weed was getting bad so i decided to limp home. had fuel starvation problems when in gear so i could only get 1/2power and it was a slow ride home. I checked one of the filter screens today in the top carb which was clear but then the heavens opened so i abandoned the mission, i need to check the other one tomorrow. This happened about 6 weeks ago but that cleared itself and has been fine till now. If i find the other sreen is clear tomorrow i cant think what it might be. any ideas? Cheers Paul

  23. i had a couple of hours in Christchurch harbour 6pm-9pm Wall to wall mullet with most of them going about 2 lbs, (i didn't have my scales or my camera) all caught on a spinner Plenty of checker bass to ragworm, but no biggies to the dozens of casts on a plug. Got back and in the car just as the first drop of rain came down-perfect! Paul J
