    Help!

That sounds a bit more promising - can you remember the name of the company at Southampton? Ambrow definitely sound over the top - an alternative option has got to be good news! Dennis
  2. Villa that sleeps 6, with communal pool, own sun terrace. Costa Blanca - near Torrevieja. Ideal for Club fishing holidays! Contact Dennis for more details.

    Help!

Thanks Martin and Rob for your suggestions. If anyone knows of a mooring free that would be great - we don't have our own trailer at all, unfortunately, and don't know how long it's going to take to sell her. If it comes down to hiring a trailer from Ambrow, we will definitely be checking the brakes!! Any more comments gratefully received. Dennis

    Help!

With the new Aquafish almost ready for delivery (it went to the London Boatshow on display, and attracted a fair bit of attention), and unfortunately the Quicksilver still not sold, we urgently need to borrow or rent a trailer to take the latter, so we can get the new one straight on the mooring. Can anyone help please? Fingers crossed, Many thanks, Dennis PS wanted to attach picture of Aquafish, but file size not accepted and I don't know how to resize or alter to make it acceptable!
  5. Must be sold - mooring needed for new Boat (the Aquafish we've ordered is going to the Boat Show and will be ready for us soon after that, so the Quicksilver must make way!) 1.7 turbo 120 hp Mercruiser, low hours, very economical. Spacious wheelhouse, twin berth, portapotty. Fitted with Garmin GPS, Navman fishfinder. Newly antifouled and serviced. Radar arch with rod holders fitted to wheelhouse roof.

  8. Hi Wedger Dennis is not here to heft it and stand on the scales - but leave it with me, and I'll get back to you with an answer as soon as I can! Steve
  9. Johnson 15 hp 2-stroke outboard - run once only - bought as auxiliary but too heavy, perfect as main engine.
  10. Thanks to all for the continuing comments - certainly managed to spark some interest and friendly competition! Have recently re-insured with current Saga, but we are on the verge of a new purchase, so will definitely shop around and read the small print for the new one. Thanks by the way to Adam taking us out on JV and helping us to make up our minds! Dennis and Steve
  11. Thanks for extremely prompt reply, Martin. Will get on to it right away! Dennis
  12. Our current boat insurers, Saga (no rude comments please!) don't cover us to go very far out - can any members advise of other more specialised boat insurers who would cover trips as far as, say for arguments sake the Channel Islands? Thanks, Dennis
  13. Has anybody else in the club heard about pistons blowing in the Cummins/Mercruiser 1.7 diesel engines. Have one in my boat and this news has rocked my confidence in it. Trying to find out from the Agent at the Boat Show, but would be glad to hear of any experiences or even hearsay from club members. Thanks Dennis

    Aquafish

Having encountered problems with current boat's engine, am thinking of trading it in for something a bit better - like the look of the Aquafish and hear there are 2 or 3 in the club. Can anyone give me any feedback on the good points and bad points to help me come to a decision? All comments gratefully anticipated! Dennis

Thanks Jim and Terry for the info. We should be able to get something organised from that. Hope to meet you out on the blue sometime soon! Dennis

    Boat names

I've caught the tail end of an old post from a member who had had a boat name made for them by ...(graham?) I think. Please can someone remember and repost, as its about time we got Sea Bee's name on her. Also, I've been told about pennants for boats made by a member's wife - any help again please? It would be good to be recognised by fellow members when we're out dangling in the future! Thanks in advance, Dennis

    VHF Radios

As a new club member who is lacking a VHF radio at this point in time, I feel that I am missing out on banter on the water and also salient information on where the fish are biting!! Are there any sets which other members could particularly recommend? I would be looking to purchase a GPS compatible model around the
  19. Thanks for all the welcomes - Dennis is really the new member, I (Steve - his long-suffering wife) can just operate the technology - sometimes! Sorry Martin for all the trouble we caused but .... YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!! Dennis (and Steve)
  20. Thank you for the welcome! Fingers crossed for the water. Better luck next time, eh? Thanks for coming to the rescue, even if we didn't need you when you got there - could have been very different with a worse cause! Wrasster
