    Sunday - JoJo

All, I have some moulds as well along with some reasonable scraps of lead flashing thats cluttering up the garden. If someone would like to help themselves, they are welcome to as long as I can have a few weights too!!!!! PM me or give me a shout on 07806 635428 Cheers Rory
  7. Thanks Terry, Yep, your welcome to PM me and have a chat etc as I would certainly be interested to hear this info, cheers Rory
  8. Terry, I have just bought an indespension trailer as well (paid for it on monday !) Contact I used was Tony Wood at Bolton, with Adrian from Southampton who brought it over (07717 630525) who is very famliar with the Poole yards etc cheers Rory
  9. Well what can I say ! A huge thanks to Charlie for a great days fishing. A good days fishing was had, with enjoyable banter in abundance, coronation chicken sandwiches supplied by Will and top quality fishing knowledge from both Will and Charlie assisting me greatly. Plenty of Whiting, 3 cod up to around 10Lb's, two good sized Pollack of 11 and 12lbs respectively, pouting and conger also, with Will landing a conger of 47lb (A PB i believe). Catching my first cod was superb, a PB Pollack and also seeing this huge conger In terms of the weather, the phrase 'A Bit Sloppy' was used a few times! But not enough to dampen the spirits and stop the fish biting. My Pills did the trick and my sea legs surprisingly stayed up to the task! Once again, a huge thanks to Charlie (& Will) for a great days fishing and sharing their fishing knowledge. Days out like this show the superb fishing knowledge within the club and the generosity of the members (I am sure I owe Will a couple of weights and some other bits of kit!). I've also learnt to keep my pockets zipped up ! if any one ever finds a green Seal Skinz glove, you know where to come !
  10. Charlie, Great stuff - Been a while since I was out, so will bring some pills. I too have to be back as have an xmas do that evening. I'll drop you a line shortly, Cheers, Rory
  11. Charlie, would love to come along, but have not fished for cod before so would be a bit of a learning trip for me. Let me know if this suitable and what gear to bring and I'll come along, Cheers, Rory
  12. Hi Jon, Not yet but hopefully soon! THE RNLI check was well worth it. Phil Simmonds went through a check list of safety features and recommendations for the boat. I found it very useful, highlighting items that I wouldn't have necessarily thought of myself. Pretty exhaustive ranging from GPS, to spare engine, to flares, etc, etc. He was also very knowledgeable and is Poole based, so once yove requested the check, it shouldn't be long before your contacted (aweek formeI think). You been out yet ? Cheers, Rory
  13. Jay, Today the RNLI carried out a safety check on my boat, which I have to say was extremely useful - I'd recommend you do the same. It's also Free! CHeers Rory
  14. haha wow !
  15. Thanks Gents, Adam i will give you a call. Cheers Rory
  16. Adam, that would be great. I am sure I could finish early one afternoon, etc. I'll give you a call Thanks everyone for the offers and I'll be sure to take some up, Cheers, Rory
  17. Brian - that would be great. I am sure we can arrange something. I'll check out the link and will complete the VHF course. All out of leave this year, so mid week trips will have to wait til next year But lenty of opportunity I am sure, Cheers
  18. Thanks Jim, Just checked ! I have : Garmin GPS 128 Lowrance X91 Silva S10 (VHF Radio) For security they aren't left on the boat. Does anyone else have this kit ? I will check on the net though as you advised... Cheers
  19. cheers Jim, i have had them working but some knowledge certainly helps ! I have boked in with the RNLI to have the boat checked out, Also paid my membership today ! cheers all
  20. All, thanks for the replies ! The boat is on a trailor on the front presently on the front garden, which the mrs is well chuffed with! I have no plans to have it off a swinging mooring as not keen on the idea of anti fouling the boat. I will followup the recommendations advised and have indeed thought about doing a course or two. More than happy to take my boat out with other experienced crew/anglers, but also happy to assist and learn the ropes on other boats too. Boat has GPS, Fish finder and VHF radio - need some help in using them ! Cheers Rory
  21. Hi Everyone, I have recently joined the club have been along to a coupe of meets which have been very enjoyable and worthwile. I have a 16th Explorer 2000 (Warrior Type) with 60HP Yamaha based in oakdale Poole, but little knowledge of managing a boat, although have experience of fishing from boat and shore. Looking for any assistance and keen to learn re: managing a boat and increasing my fishing knowledge also. Cheers Rory
