Launching from knoll beach on Tuesday . Mostly for the scenery but also fishing. I'm after some possible marks for rays off Ballard? I'm sure someone said its ok there. Any info for other species off Ballard gladly read.
Cheers

Getting hold of a rare, unsigned copy, is hard work

Have you joined Anglers Afloat? They are a great mine of info for kayaking . Lots of great advice. Pbsbac have been brilliant to me as a Poole local and have freely given me so much fishing advice as a beginner angler. Check out the first Thursday of the month meetings. I can't make Augusts meeting as I shall be in a five star boutique hotel with roof top swimming pool in Madrid but I'm sure we'll catch up at some time.
Welcome to the forum and join the club.

Cracking Bass Si . I've put the photos on pbsbacphotos photobucket account and also uploaded them to a folder on the forum called pbsbacphotos.
If you get anymore just ping them over. Don't worry, particle physisysts at the LHC can't put photos on here.

Well. The Mrs and kids decided on a last minute trip to the shops. "would I like to come?"

Thanks for the comments. Kenzaki + slosh = weapon of bass distraction.
Cheers Graham but it's not that sort of anniversary
Got to make the most of these windows. It's a long winter.
I love the training bank. Lots of surprises for me there. Oh and the guys on the breakwater all came and had a butchers. Hope it kept them interested?
Now to try for a Stingray.

There goes the neighbourhood

Time to stop bothering smuts
So the weather window materialised as xc promised and as i planned i got down to Sandbanks around half five.Met up with Peackie and paddled over to the training bank.
A pleasant evenings fishing ended with several Ballans each and a new pb bass for me,my first this year.

Good effort. Did you try for Stingrays?
There's a club record waiting at Tanners lane.

Straight out from Tanners 500 yards. Not the hardest of paddles to be fair but great sport. A chum had a stingray on his kayak last weekend. Took big ragworm baits

Cheers for the feedback,a 19lb one was taken on a kayak from Hillhead last week.

I had an evening session tonight, seven smoothhounds, two were about 7 lbs but the others were big boys.Biggest was 6.75 kilos on my scales.14.8
also had two dogs and a good bream to nearly 2lbs that managed to get a 5/0 hook in its gob?

Well I won a new slosh on fleabay, 60 quid, and I'm going to stick it on Chris's kenzaki when I can get my sweaty little hands on it. I'm happy with that.
I'm going back to Tanners tomorrow night(Monday) for another crack at the smuts, just past Lymington if anyone else fancies it.

Well,i knew it wasnt going to last and with a final weather window i decided on Tanners lane.
A wise moustachio'd chap told me where to go and what bait,so armed with squid and twenty frozen peelers off i popped.
I arrived about 4 with a nice bit of sun and abit of breeze but by the time i got to the mark the sun was gone.
Two rods with a zip slider on the mainline,swivel,2 foot snood ,mustad bass 4/0 with two peelers whipped on and in they went.
Less than 5 minutes and rod 1 goes vizzzzzzzzzz. The biggest fish ive had to date was a 6lb bass(only been at this just over a year)so when my first double figure smut finally came to the side i was blown away.Got her on the yak and she flipped and jumped and twisted. I wasnt ready for that. Unhooked and thinking what to do when rod 2 goes vizzzzzzzz. Smut goes back and i play the next one to the boat. Roughly the same size.
30 minutes and my two biggest fish. Vizzzzzzzz. Off we go again. This time a smaller one and i remember ive got my camera in my pocket Doh.This one put on a better scrap and done the first leap out of the water of the afternoon. 5 more jumped well clean of the surface for the next 3 hours, you could here me wooohooo in Lymington.
The biggest one was in a different league though and pulled the yak to and fro, went under the boat and nearly had me over!I weighed it in the net to approx 14lbs
My twenty peelers didnt last long and i was down to squid but that took longer for bites but it did the trick
14 came aboard the boat,12 starrys and 2 common, with another double dropped at the side and one missed run on the squid
A session I wont forget in a hurry
Various phots in no particular order
