Hi Brian No I dont come to the meetings ,its a bit difficult to arrange living on the island, I have now ordered from the website that I mentioned , it seemed a simple solution, also a 3 year warranty which I think is unusual ,in fact it is the only 3 year warranty that I have come across .I spoke to Paul at Warrior and he said that it was unusual and that in his experience most marine batteries last about 2.5 years so he thought it was a good idea. Many Thanks for Your Help Mike F

Hi All I am in the need of a new 110 amp marine leisure battery and have found one that I think is a good price. The supplier would be www.anvancedbatteriessupplies.co.uk in stockport cheshire.has anybody on the forum had any dealings with them. I can get a Lucas supreme with a 3 year warranty with free next day delivery anywhere in the UK, everywhere else I have tried gives 2 years. If I dont get any bad reports about them I shall give them a try unless you guys know of anywhere else I should try. Thanks for any info Mike F

Hi guys I have been reading about a lot of success that some are having with these lures, can anyone suggest to me to tackle up with them , I am supposing that additional weight is needed , I would like to bounce the bottom in about 40 foot of water. Is it with the old flying collar rig or something else .Also is the 6 inch suitable. Many Thanks Mike F

Hi Terry I have a e-tec 75 came with boat , warrior 165 . Just one point when choosing engine size , sometimes a larger engine will give you more fuel economy, that is why some 175's have a 130hp honda. Whichever one you choose I am sure you will be happy with it. Mike

Thanks chaps A great help as always. I was away when that thread was running so missed it. Many Thanks Mike F

Thanks Terry I realise that Warrior do one and that you can get them from most chandlers, but I was just after an unbiased opinion before I bought one, I see that you have a 165 do you carry an auxiliary if so is it a short or long shaft. Many Thanks Mike

Hi Guys I am thinking of getting a Yam 4hp as auxiliary engine on my warrior 165. Firstly will I need a short shaft (standard)i.e. 15 -16 inches or 20-21 inch shaft. Secondly can anyone recommend a good bracket to mount it on ,or are there any to avoid. I will appreciate any help you can give me. Many Thanks Mike F

Hi Guys, I am just thinking about getting a 4hp 4 stroke Yam as an aux engine to fit a warrior 165 can anyone recommend a good bracket to use as I have no previous experience of these. Many Thanks Mike F

Hi Paul What the marine engineer told me was that there must have been just enough charge to start the engine twice but even with the battery getting charged on the run out because of the condition of the battery it could not hold the charge. Yes I did leave the instruments on for a while but this is never usually a problem. The battery was tested and it had dead cells. Because the leisure battery that I use is easily enough to cope with the way I use it he suggested a jump pack instead. His reasons were the jump pack took the place of a second battery if needed giving you plenty of juice to start engine to get home, also being charged at home it overcomes any possible charging problem on boat which could affect battery condition even with two batteries. thanks for your comments interesting about the 50 or so panels that your friend fitted, they must do the job then. Thanks for the help and advice Mike

Hi Guys First trip out last year I started engine before towing to launch site and it started easily. Towed to launch site and once again engine started easily. Went a few miles anchored up fished for about four hours. When I tried to start engine battery was completely dead. I have a e-tech 75 and did manage to start it with cord around flywheel but I must stress that it was not easy and definitely needs practice in quite waters. Since then I also have bought a jump starter pack I take it every time and hope that I do not need it. One thing that i learnt from this is that you cannot leave a battery for several months in winter without at least trickle charging it . I expect that most of you all know this but I did not . I have now bought a solar trickle charger from Maplins for

Terry Sounds like a very good idea. Who sells the rod kit is it Indespension or an independant supplier. Many Thanks Mike

Me again, forgot to mention that I chose to have delivered it by parcel post not courier, a quarter of the price and about six hours quicker. Mike

Hi all Just a quick mention for Indespension of southampton ,after investigation my problem was the inner cable at the front end where passes through the chassis member and into the outer. It was just solid, after soaking it in deisel and giving it a good thrashing I gave up and ordered a new one. I ordered it at about 11 am monday and recieved it at 9.30 am Tuesday, thats what I call good service. As a matter of interest there are two different axels fitted to a rollercoaster 3 one called an Alco and one called a knot, I had the knot, but if it had been an alco there is an option for stainless brake cables, worth thinking about if you have one of the latter. Thanks again for the help. mike
