No pictures I am afraid as I am land locked and the boat is down in Dorset. To explain the trip cable has two loops with the front one secured to the shackle through the trip eye of the anchor. The cable is laid taught along the anchor shaft and secured with small weak cable ties every few inches. The cable is secured tightly to the anchor eye with heavy cable tie 10mm wide and ends in a loop which is marginally longer than the anchor to which a anchor swivel is secured. Under normal conditions the load on the anchor is along the axis of the anchor shaft and is taken by the the shackle and the heavy cable tie in combination. Should the anchor foul motor up towards it which breaks the heavy cable tie at the rear of the anchor together with the weak ties that bind it to the shaft . You are now connected to the trip eye only and can pull it out. I might add my boat is only about a ton so for heavier boats you may need more than one heavy cable ties at the rear of the anchor. What have you got to lose (a few cable ties). Hope this helps Richard

My swivel is fitted to the trip cable which is secured to the anchor eye with heavy cable tie. The trip cable runs down the anchor shaft and is held with very thin cable ties and is secured to the front trip eye with a steel shackle.

I have an extended bow roller and it works fine, I think its more the style of anchor than anything else. With a bruce style anchor an a proper anchor swivel fitted once the stem hits the roller the heavier legs of the bruce style rotate due to the gravity being either side and makes it difficult to orientate in any other way other than claws down. Hope this helps Ben.

The trim tabs would keep the back UP and the bow down, also you can use to trim the boat for varying weight displacement such as fuel payload, passengers, twin batteries etc. A very worthwhile modification which is well within the scope of a DIY project and will have a profound effect on the handling of the boat. Regards and good luck Richard

Agree with Robs comments about the trailer ,also check the wheel bearings before you tow it away. I would also suggest a boat that size with a 75 Honda (which are a bit of a lump) will need trim tabs to keep the back up. Richard

Probably going in to limp mode due to an engine fault. Get Paul Thorn Tel 01202496630 to get the diagnostics on it.

This is a tip from landlocked Hertfordshire where I unfortunately have to overwinter. Go on U-TUBE and search TA Fishing , this is run by Graham Pullen who is an inspiration to us all. You can view his boat fishing exploits many of which are in the Eastern Solent together with shore fishing and freshwater fishing videos. He is a knowlegable and engaging man who has fished all over the world

On a bitterly cold winters morning a husband and wife in Dublin were listening to the radio during breakfast. They heard the announcer say... "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the Snow ploughs can get through." So the good wife went out and moved her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast again, the radio announcer said... "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snow ploughs can get through." The good wife went out and moved her car again. The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio announcer says... "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park...." Then the electric power went out... The good wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said... "Darling, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snow ploughs can get through?" Then with the love and understanding in his voice, that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, the husband replied... "Why don't you just leave the *****car in the garage this time."

The Missing Wife The day after his wife disappeared in a kayaking accident, a Twillingate, Newfoundland man answered his door to find two grim-faced RCMP officers. "We're sorry Mr. Flynn, but we have some information about your wife," said one of the officers. "Tell me...did you find her?!" Cedric Flynn asked. The Mounties looked at each other. Then one said, "We have some bad news, some good news, and some really great news. Which would you like to hear first?" Fearing the worst, Mr. Flynn said, "Give me the bad news first." The RCMP officer said, "I'm sorry to tell you, sir, but this morning we found your wife's body in the bay." "Lord sufferin' Jesus!" exclaimed Flynn. Swallowing hard, he asked, "What could possibly be the good news?" The officer continued, "When we pulled her up, she had 12 of the best looking Atlantic lobsters that you have ever seen clinging to her. Haven't seen lobsters like that since the 1960's, and we feel you are entitled to a share in the catch." Stunned, Mr. Flynn demanded, "If that's the good news, then what's the great news?" The officer replied, "We're gonna pull her up again tomorrow."

Did you get the plastic bottle top out of the oil tank and its fallen down and jamming the linkage ?
-
I have an 50 hp E Tec and would imagine yours is very similar. The oil tank is transclucent so shining a strong light through it may reveal the caps whereabouts.after removing all the oil you can try putting an air line in it which should blow any loose objects out. if you want any advice phone Paul Thorne at South Coast Outboards (Christchurch) 01202 496630 as he is a very nice guy that knows everything E Tec. Regards Richard

High Martin You can get a waterproof illuminated cable camera on ebay for about ten quid. You load a little bit of software to a laptop , dangle it over the side and job done. You can save the images or video to your hard drive if you wish . Regards Richard

These are avaible from Roche Marine for £130. ouch" and studying the video in slow motion it looks like it transfers a horseshoe shaped carriage from one side to the other driven by the upward and downward pressure of the pull or push. What is a bit worrying is they are also selling spare heads for these units which suggests they may have a history of failure.
