  1. There you go then Onslow, as I suggested might be the case, my idea is wrong!
  2. No thanks, but my previous still applies please Kam!
  3. On another point, does it follow that the further away from the outboard you mount the tabs, the better?
  4. I'm by no way an expert at anything to do with boats or fishing, in fact everything I've learned has been in the last 8 months from the visitors to this fantastic club's site, but Nauticus reckon on using the smaller ST980-40 kit for my Shetland which is 17' 7" and has a 50Hp Johnson 2 stroke on the back. Like Paul says, you might want to wing them an e-mail to check if you haven't already done so. They are very good- I sent an e-mail just before lunch and they have just replied. Perhaps Adam carries more weight at his stern than you do i.e. it might be that your actuators are a bit stiff for your particular 165's set up? I'm sure other contributors will comment on this! By the way, I notice your trailer number plate isn't a Brit one. Where are you based?
  5. Thanks Coddy Courier Services! Found any more kit on your garage, Kam?
  6. Has anyone got pictures of the back of their boat with smart tabs fitted? I'll be fitting a transducer this weekend and I'm wondering if I ought to take the possible future siting of smart tabs into account... C.
  7. More interesting viewing coming up on Sunday: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/5223142.stm C.
  8. Thanks Wedger!
  9. Hmmm, I didn't notice the footwear but Martin was wearing a brilliant white T shirt to show off his sun tan...
  10. Cheers Kam. Anyone got suggestions for a cheap, local source of UV stable perspex/acrylic/polycarbonate then? C.
  11. ****SPOTTED**** Martin and Bob, undertaking manual labour, in the vicinity of Upper Parkstone, approx 08.10 this morning. (Battered) Wheelbarrow, skip and other tools evident. No coffee mugs seen. **END OF REPORT** Thought Tom might like to know!
  12. Hi All, where's the best place to get new perspex for my windows? C.
  13. They are A2 not 316... Cherry's Chandlery, over at Moordown, are closing down (20% off everything) and he sells screws/bolts/nuts etc loose, rather than in packs.
  14. As an aside I got some Lazy Tongs riveters in In-Excess a little while ago- about
  15. I'll have the rod holders please! And the anchor stopper if Alun doesn't want it. C.
  16. As on the edited post, I'll have it please Kam. C.
  17. Very well done gents. C.
  18. Hi Kam, can I have first refusal on the Navman Fuel Transducer please? Just need to check my manual and will let you know for sure later today. Edit: Hang on, just checked the website, and yes please, I'll take it! If you PM me your acc no and Sort code I'll transfer you the money. As long as that's OK! Coddy, please could you add this to the back of your 'Courier Wagon'? C.
  19. It's a long way by sea from Padstow to Looe (especially if you go the Long Way Round!) so it would have to be one particularly geographically embarrassed fish!
  20. Well the winner by default was Mike who turned up in a nifty red sports car and gave me the lowdown. Cheers Mike, I'm one more step closer to actually getting out on the water!
  21. Thanks chaps, got a tub of white grease from Force 4.
  22. I've spotted her in a few harbours over the years, been on her a few times (battling some chaps clad in black) and once left via a helicopter piloted by Prince Andrew. She's probably off for a new career in the Indian Navy...

    Grease

Afternoon All What grease do you chaps use on your linkages etc? I'm guessing normal Castrol isn't any cop and I need a marine equivalent? I guess my next question would be: Where from and how much? C.
  24. Hi Mike, the transducer I have needs to be transom mounted otherwise not sure how the paddle wheel on it will work through the hull...
  25. Not frightened of Mike Well not about transducers anyway! He scares the sh1t out of me normally . To be honest, I could fit a transducer with my eyes closed...oh yeah that is the same as "Pin the 'ducer on a Shetland"! If I get the chance I'll pop round, I need to pop out some time today for a baseball bat, a tough bucket and some balloons , the thought of a cold squash doesn't quite do it for me, but I may come and say Hi. Hope you didn't make a wasted trip today Tom, it's Thursday I'm at home all day. I've got cold cans of funny tasting squash with Stella on the label if you prefer!
