  1. Personally, I was going to wait until Thur or Friday when the forecast will be a bit more accurate and hopefully weymouth may styill be in the cards ( unlikely I know ). I was figuring that if the wind is a southerly then Solent would be well protected, but what is the fishing in the Solent like ? Any marks Rich ?
  2. Another member's boat has pictures added to the members boats Members Boats There is life outside the forum see
  3. Just looking on Windguru at the forecast for Weymouth on Sunday and it certainly looks horrendous. They are forecasting 25 knots wind with 3 meter waves - Gets 3 stars for surfers
  4. Solent forecast for Saturday is Valid for 6 hours from 1200 GMT Saturday Wind: SSW, Force 2 or 3 ( 4 - 8 mph) Weather Bright or sunny spells Sea State Slight Visibility 7 miles
  5. Mike, Helen's just read your post and her quote is "Dicing with death !! ". Kam, I actually chain mine to the gas pipe - cut through that and the thiefs will regret it
  6. Adam, I will pop in there lunchtime and find out the price if you like. Will call you at around 12:45 ish. if you want em, I will buy them and get the money off you Sunday. Sound good ?
  7. Adam, I got a set of coastal flares from Pumpkin Marine. They are the ones made by Pains-Wessex ( top notch and I have shares in their parent company ) and were around
  8. Adam, I'll have a go - you have seen the superb job I did on the front of Neo Seriously, I have actually tidied that up now and it is really not that hard at all. ( Still need another coat/sand to finish off better ) Yacht friend at work showed me - acetone to clean out the hole and then gelcoat filler stuff left to harden off then sanded down with wet and dry. The hole on the front of Neo went right through to the fibreglass as well and was about the size of a 50p piece - and that just from bumping a pontoon at 45 degrees whlst being pulled by the rope !
  9. No prob Mike, just looked at the tides and they are all timed all wrong as I didn't want to stay out late and low is around 18:30 ish which is no damn good for me.
  10. and a bit of lightning for third
  11. and this was voted second
  12. This was voted best photo of 2003 ( according to the thing I was sent at work ). Either way pretty impressive
  13. I shall be there, I will have a friend with me for whom it will be his first boat trip Any times yet ? ( and this time I intend to get over the bridge before it lifts up ! )
  14. Googlebot is a robot ie. Not a CBU !! ( seriously ). It is Google's web crawler which indexes sites so they can put them in their search engine.
  15. OK Mike. Can you get Wednesday off to fish ? - If so, I may be able to wangle the afternoon off - U up for it ?
  16. Martin, Yes - still want my order and will collect early Tue evening. cheers Paul

    Auxiliary bracket

I fitted mine on the Orkney onto the port side, mainly because I wanted to balance out the weight of two batteries on the other side + the live bait well/drum which is on the starboard side now.
  18. Not totally amazing as many are search engine crawlers, crawling through the forum. However, there is an increase in usage from what my work colleague calls CBU's ( Carbon Based Units )
  19. Has made me think a bit as well. Personally I would have had a lifejacket on ( mainly because I am a bad swimmer ! ). The fuel element though is what I was thinking of. If I had been out there ( and I almost was going to go, but thank god didn't ! ) then I would have had insufficient fuel to get to Weymouth. Now off to buy a second fuel tank so plenty of spare fuel is onboard in case the need arises Also, speaking for myself, but I suspect the same applies to others, I am used to launching / retrieving from sheltered slipways ( ie. Wick / Lymington and to a lesser degree Baiter ) but launch/retrieve from an exposed slipway is evidently a different ball game. Same as Charlie says with regard to no problem getting in car and helping out if help is needed in the future ( indeed I chatted to Adam at around 12:00 before the shit hit the fan ). I was on call anyhow
  20. Bass Fishing Ban to Save Dolphins By Sam Marsden, PA News Bass fishing in UK waters off South West England will be halted in an attempt to reduce dolphin deaths, the Government announced today. Fisheries Minister Ben Bradshaw said bass pair trawling would immediately be banned from within 12 miles of the region
  21. Bloody hell Adam, I was wishing I had been able to go earlier today - now I am glad I didn't ( Can't bear to imagine how the Orkney would have fared ). At least you all walked away from it, that's the main thing. Will Splash Out and BW be OK for the Weymouth trip ?
  22. Not sure if he uses the forum, but following catch reports have been reported by T Rowlands on Tresillian for today :- 2lb Red Mullet ( believed to be new club record ) - I will update list once Charlie confirms. 2lb 4 oz Plaice
  23. and here is a good link for you Mike to track those tropical storms :- Tropical Storms apols if you already have it.
  24. Karl eyes Scotland Added [Friday September 24 2004 : 10:28:59 AM] Remants of Hurricane Karl are expected to affect much of Scotland on Sunday bringing gale force winds and heavy rainfall to the far Western areas (there will be a period of *very* intense rainfall between 9am and 11am on Sunday morning in the far Western area of mainland Scotland. Karl will remain fairly well intact as he passes North of the UK, however it looks as though the heaviest of the rainfall will affect the Faroes early Sunday.
  25. Exciting - you have me wondering why ( esp. given the fishing ). I regret not being able to fish today, weather looked superb but I was on call for work + bad cold, so had to take a rain check. From the catch reports so far, a trip to X-Ray may have done the business Well up for Weymouth next weekend. PLease , please let the weather stay good.
