  14. well it was a quiet day with whiting and one 51/2llb cod to my crew mate. looks like a lot of people had the same idea with the forecast, there were between forty and fifty boats out there. well done to those that had better results. cheers andy

    Leaders

my view, light fishing on clean ground- no leader heavy fishing wreck or rough ground- leader the knot that tom recommended has proved to be ideal. not sure how to link it but if you look back through my posts you should find it. cheers andy

  18. well after the last few trips being busy drifting for bass i decided it was time to have a go at wreck fishing, so a scan through the book and decided on a wreck that was 200 by thirty ft and sitting seven mtrs high. mackerel yet again proved to be about but in small numbers, off to the wreck we go and to my surprise the numbers were bang on so we spent ten minutes plotting it before setting the anchor another nice surprise anchor set and we were sat bang on over the wreck. the fishing proved to be non stop and good fun no record breakers but a good variety . conger bass tope dogfish pouting mackerel cheers andy
  19. just the two bass for us today mine went 6llb-5oz and jasons about three iib. a lovely start but by twelve it was time to head home. cheers andy

  21. gordon thanks for that, it looks the same as ive done but mine will not pump at any sort of speed so i wondered how adams was different. cheers andy
  22. adam, any chance of a photo of that set up. thanks andy
  23. terry, my point was exactly that. im travelling further than five or six miles and they need the extra help, this unit fitted as well as the transom pump definitely helps. to the best of my knowledge most if not all of the larger boats have pumps fitted through skin fittings meaning that they get fresh water 100% of the time. and yes i am aware of how to look after the bait but thanks for your advise. cheers andy

    live bait

one of the things that i have steered away from is skin fittings on my boats but this is a problem if you want to keep bait alive whilst you have a long way to travel as the pump fitted to the transom will not work whilst motoring at any sort of speed. after trying various things i have ended up adding a keepalive pump from tek tanks this not only gives good circulation it also adds oxygen to the water, all i did was bolt it to the floor of the existing tank and to date it has proved to be very good. cheers andy
  25. tom, not sure but it is to use in the uk as far as i know cheers andy
