Not far from Pokesdown station....
-
Good condition this time, seven drawer upright, frost-free freezer...I'm not looking for much for it... thanks, Mark
-
Not exactly new, but perfectly servicable ...
-
Thanks Alun, I'm sure I will take you up on the offer, especially given your proven fish finding abilities The glitches on the boat that were apparent when you came out have all long been sorted now too !

All, I'm in the process of relocating to London and can't justify keeping a boat to myself down here, so alas she's got to go. Brand new last year, still only 85 hrs on the 85hp Nanni diesel, electronics, ground tackle, everything you'd expect. Not the worlds quickest boat, but a very nice stable platform to fish from. Boat and engine still under guarantee, and I'm open to offers. Of course we can arrange to take her for a spin, she's currently in Mitchells at Parkstone. Any questions please PM or email me. Reluctantly... Mark

Control Panel -> Add/remove software should get rid of it if it doesn't have an "Uninstall" program....

Mine was on me old Shakespeare uptide rod....great sport on that, belive Scotts was also on his new light rod...both fought brilliantly and were in no rush to come up !

Pretty good day on Saturday....went to a mackerel mark, and they were obliging, followed by a tope mark and they were also obliging. Only managed one each before the storm hit us, but at 12.5lb and 17lb we were pleased enough with our half day adventure...
-
Went out about 6.30, got a few maccy though they weren't exactly abundant, and then motored over to a well known lighthouse for a drift over the rocks with some live ones... Despite the bait being perfect size, and delivered on a portland rig we got nothing, though we only managed 3 drifts because of the failing light. Just before it went dark we then moved to the ledge and anchored up looking for the eel I dropped the other week. No eel this time, but a plague of doggies with a couple of junior huss thrown in (4lbish)...and a big cuttle fish... Will try again in a couple of days.

Yeah...count me in Tom...
-
Roger that ! Scott was aiming for the chin - neither of us would have contemplated anything else, but I reckon we're agreed that netting is the way forward
-
cheers Tom...lets see the piccy !
-
I'd heard of people favouring nets over gaffs - tail first sounds like good advice, cheers And yeah, we'll organise a meet sometime in the near future...

Scott and I took Espadon out on Friday night to the ledge for a spot of congering. After filling our bucket with mackie near the piers we motored over to a spot well known for bream and dropped the pick. To start with we were just hooking into a shoal of jumbo pout and the odd doggie, but then quite near midnight a much more promising knock on my rod was converted into something clearly quite unhappy thrashing around on the end. After playing this fish for what seemed like forever (it always does eh), probably more like 10 minutes though, she was on the surface...a lovely looking eel..long AND fat ! Scott was leaning over the back, gaff ready....one attempt to get it....just missed....second attempt....<SNAP>....the leader gave out....gutted Still, we got a good sight of it, and she was always going to be allowed to swim away again...would have just been nice to get a piccy and a proper weight to go with the fight. Scotts estimate (he's seen more of these things than I) was in the region of 40lb. Had plenty of other bites that felt "conger-ish" that we failed to convert, and we can also say that our first foray at night was a success, so overall it was deffo a good trip - a few of you out there will also be pleased to hear that both my windscreen wipers and GPS now appear to be both fully functional and reliable. I haven't driven into the side of anything for a while now either

Many moons ago I was a member of Elmore AC at Lee-on-Solent, they've got a compound right next to a slipway though I don't think it's accessible at all states of tide....maybe worth a try ?
-
Actually our thanks should go to Mad Mike for giving the visual method of getting to the Whitehouse Grounds...lined up Peverill Buoy with End of Swanage pier, and kept on going until the sea was a little less distorted. With the tide as it was yesterday it was super lumpy off Pev.Ledge yesterday. We motored around using the sonar to try and find some interesting lumps and some deepish water...evenutally settled on something near what looked like some rocks in about 28 metres and got lucky with it....would have been nice to have the GPS working so I could have got the waypoint but it seems my boat has an evil curse on it - think the witchdoctors at Southern will be able to lift the curse, lets hope sooner rather than later. Had a couple of other interesting hook ups while we were out there - one apiece to Scott and I - where the line went solid on the retrieve, as though it were snagged - but then the rock started moving upstream. Would have put it down to dragging the anchor, though I'm sure we weren't and this only happened twice about 45 mins apart from each other. There was no half eaten dogfish on the end of mine unfortunately but it did get me quite excited for a w hile....any thoughts ? Nice fish mate

If it's schematics you're after then you can do worse than go to this site Mikes Reel Repairs They're based in Canada and the postage is still reasonable from there too if you need any parts.

Only problem I can think of is where to get it fixed if it's duff....like mine

Sorry guys..I will be taking the boat out Saturday morning but my little girl will be there and this limits me to about 4hrs out of a possible 48 and she's not a club member Really disappointed not to be able to partake, but will try harder for next year... Mark
