procede with caution if you go to mg duffs website you can enter the info to tell you which to use im dealing with a boat at the moment which had aluminium anodes fitted last year the boat spent the whole time in the north sea the anodes were gone much faster than zinc that was fitted the previous year !!!! could cost more than the few quid saved on anodes
The only other points to consider that have not been mentioned is availability of petrol quayside,humping jerry cans about is not fun especially the amounts big outbourds consume,and which would you rather sit on 200 litres of unleaded or 200 litres of diesel from a combustibility point of view ???

Was there coolant in the bilge below the engine if yes then there must be an external leak on the engine/pipework if no sign of coolant it has to go somewhere so either into oil into exhaust with raw water or even into the calorifier check the water coming out of the hot tap !!!!!
have fitted a couple of the ait 2000 which seem to be reasonable just bear in mind you need a vhf areial (avoid splitters) also they come with their own gps antenna
ref the mussel beds the plaice dont seem to be about in any numbers because the mussels died off (disease)nothing to do with the trawlers hopefully the mussels should re populate in the next year or so
