List updated, a few changes on the leader boards. 👍

Please keep the reports coming in and add to the "Report A Catch" everything else is covered automatically.

The season is now into the final month but there is still time to get on top of the leader boards.
Weather and family commitments allowing lets get some more names on the lists.

Photos are always welcome to add to the reports. 👍

    Dear Members and Committee
It was with some sadness but also some relief to give my 13th and last report to the AGM and to hand over the reigns to Mal.
It has been an honour to be the chairman of the club , but I did not expect it to last for so long.
I was very grateful for the magnificent card signed by the members, that was some achievement to get so many names and  signatures , and also the box of Sauvignon Blanc was much appreciated,

Thank you to every one for  the positive sentiments and the applause that I got.
I will continue to attend meetings and continue fishing, I have just j]had the first offer on the boat. Lets see what happens.
Thank you and Best wishes Tony

Keep finding speakers like Stu and meetings will be packed.

23rd July 2022, 7.30pm, at Broadstone Conservative Club

Dave (Reel Wizard) died in early 2021 from incurable cancer.  Because of Covid restrictions his funeral was limited to 30 people so his wife, Jackie, would like to hold an Open Memorial Evening.

The aim of the evening will be to pay tribute to Dave as an ex-England and European angler, for his Reel Services and as a photographer. The evening includes a free buffet and Broadstone Conservative Club is not charging for the room.  During the evening there will be various fund raising events for Macmillan Caring, which helped Dave.  These will include the auction of some Dave's pictures and prints, sale of bird/nature books and raffle.

All are more than welcome.  Come and join us for a drink, however, if you would like some food please let me know by the 16th. July so I can pass the numbers on to Jackie.

    Phew!
5 minutes spare so a quick report.

I met up with Tony at Cobb's at 8 ish on Monday morning.
What a superb morning it was too.   Flat calm,  like a sheet of glass. 🙂
Went through the 08:30 lift and away we went.
Off to Ballard on a lovely lovely calm sea.
On arrival we circled around and found promising signs on the sounder.
There was almost no tide so although we'd calculated where the anchor should go we didn't find any Bream.
Allan & Co. on Fisheagle  were to the side of us for a while before heading off.
We re anchored to try to find some fish but still no good.
After coffee & a sandwich the decision to try the patch was made so off we went.
Didn't stay very long as there was no sign of fish and a nearby charter showed no signs of catching either!

Secret Ray mark it is then!
We could catch almost anything there. 👍
We decided that the "Secret Ray mark"
is now . .. . the "Secret Doggy mark" 😒
Then to the Swash with no results.
Plenty of weed everywhere but nothing but Doggies on the fish front.
I had a great day on the water with a great skipper and plenty of natter.
Back to Cobb's just before the 5:30 lift and into the bar for a quick pint.
Thank you very much Tony.  👍😉

Yup and that's why I took the 10k offer we had, I was also paying storage/berthing for 3 boats at one point.... That can soon add up and the extra 1-2k that I might have got was not worth the gamble.

I've spent the last couple of months tidying my boat up (new deck and bits n bobs) and will be putting everything back on it soon. My anchor retrieval rope was a big loop with knots and kinks all over (an accident waiting to happen really) so I decided to watch a "YouTube" video and have a go at splicing it. I know that self praise is no praise at all, but I think it's pretty good 👍🤣
