Many Happy Returns for the day..... Looks like a bit of a change in the weather has come with it.
Great age to retire...........if you can !!
-
Too good to be true ???
Had a peek at Metcheck [ notoriously hopeless at this range !!] .......after yesterday giving gales and frost [!!]........now giving Northerly winds easing through next week, to leave a gentle N to take us there; light breezes for the weekend and a gentle Southerly tp bring us back !!
They must be picking up Adam's brainwaves in their forecasts !!
-
looking at a few possible windows during the week........
.....but after all this rain, the water will be very murky.
-
so small......'window' seems inappropriate.
I'll be out hoping the ''chink' of opportunity opens up a bit.
-
..............
[ "whats on the end of the rope coming out the rear?? "]
.....mackerel feathers ??
-
I have so much conflicting experience, I'm not sure of the value of groundbaiting
.....but still do it .... a bit !!
A few trips ago......... bream first two drops...... bit of groundbait in ...... all goes quiet!
A few hours later... a couple more after little and often... and quiet again.
Cleaned fish were empty......other times they are stuffed with g.bait.
Seems every situation is different...........Be Prepared !!
-
That Bruce should be OK...... with a decent length of chain... about 8m.
-
............amd the water taxi ??
-
You should have done your usual marks !!...... Southbourne was completely flat this morn..... with an off the shore NE breeze.........absolutely no surf or swell.
-
Tomorrow seems to give the only window for the week !! ....and it's looking better this evening than during the day today !!
I shall be out .... mostly trying for bream...... despite the poor reports.
Anyone else ????
Small tide......out with the ebb; in with the flood......I like that .... I can be very 'Eco-friendly' !!

Jo will be getting jealous !! I remember one boat called Enticer had to go over 'Love' issues !!
-
a few yesterday on the Shambles
-
I did manage a nice bass despite paucity of bream
-
With a medium size turbot I decided to cook it on the bone....
dead simple.......
In a large butted dish.... lay the trimmed [ fins, tail and gills removed] whole turbot.
Season with s&p.......few knobs of butter.......gulg of dry white........and generous pour of double cream. Add finely chopped fennel............and bake in oven [ 160 -70 C for 25 mins approx].
Lift off the bone and use all the juices as sauce.
I was fortunate enough to have the first of this years aspargus to accompany this
........and a bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc.
HEAVEN !!
-
Have a good day............many happy returns.

Count me in for the Harbour Lights on the Sun....... and the Moorings for the Sat.
I like the walk up the hill...... and enjoy a steak at the Marais Hall; so that will be my preferred option for the Fri.
-
It will be easier soon.........when the red and green buoys go in. You'll be surprised how narrow the 'channel' is...... but, as Nick says, it is close to 2m for most of the middle section.....though you go very close to the bank.!!
-
even lower tomorrow !!
-
....BUT..........it is the 'middle' sized fish that are the 'fittest' fish, in reproductive terms. !!
-
Hi..... I often see that that bright orange Aquafish passing me around this end of the Bay. My little Orkney sometimes gets a wave !!
Cheers,
Alun.
-
Tough luck Nige !! Hope the insurance is not too much hassle and you are back up and running soon.
You are welcome to come floundering on mine [sat] ....if you can keep warm ! ??
