  1. I agree the meeting seemed fairly positive and it certainly looked as though they were listening. I think what Pia was hearing really woke her up, lets hope she stays awake. Although nothing will ever be decided at one of these meetings but what will happen is seeds will be planted and time will tell whether they take root. The best we can do is keep attending them and plugging our end
  2. Allan the poster says from 16:00 on Thursday at the north lounge, is that still correct or has it changed?
  3. Allan I would like to come along but will be getting ready for a holiday however, if I get spare time I'll join you
  4. See you all on the water, we will going out on the 8:30 lift from Cobbs
  5. Steve I don't think the site is allowing new members to register. I have registered the last two and have had another state he couldn't register but then never forwarded me his details for me to register. Maybe when you next converse with Mark you could mention this
  6. Martin on Madness. Jim you can join me if you like? room for one more, if you fancy it post here
  7. Congratulations Mike and Clare with the best of luck and good fortune for the future
  8. This is something we have saying for the last 6 or 7 years. Mackerel are a now rarity in our area and year on year becoming harder and harder to find in fact most of us, apart from a lazy line have given up.
  9. Hope the walk goes well Graham
  10. Madness is going out this coming Friday with Tony D And Phil T onboard Anyone else taking advantage of the light winds? If you are we will be monitoring Ch6
  11. Don’t worry Greg we will take advantage of your gift of good weather 😂 hope your recovery isn’t too long even if it does put a damper on the weather
  12. Martin you would be more than welcome out on Madness. keep an eye on the crew threads or message if you would like a message when I’m going out. Wind and tides look great for next week but I’ve not checked with the other half yet
  13. That’s good news Greg, wishing you a speedy recovery
  14. Madness ventured out again on Thursday with Terry B and Phil T onboard. We stayed very inshore along the beaches and had plenty of plaice mostly small but we had a dozen keepers between the 3 of us. We also had a smattering of small bream, gurnard wrasse and even a few mackerel. Lovely weather and company made for a good day out.
  15. So Wednesday was a glorious day with a lot of sun interspersed with cloud along with a short burst or rain however the weather didn't dampen spirits. We had a great day out on the water with a few if not small fish including Baby snotties, smooth hounds, wrasse, doggies, gurnard et all but nothing of note. As per usual the company was great. Will see all those who are out on Thursday tomorrow 🙂 give us (Madness) a shout on ch6 over
  16. Madness now has crew for Thursday
  17. I have crew for Wednesday but looking to go out either Thursday or Friday as well anyone want a day out on madness?
  18. We that is, Tony, Graham and myself are looking at Wednesday but that may obviously change
  19. Midweek onwards looks good this coming week. Madness is planning on going out anyone else have any plans?
  20. Great report Martin, I love your way with words its almost better than your fishing skills
  21. Sun no wind flat seas and fish what more could we ask for? Arranged a trip out on Madness and press ganged Tony D and Graham N to crew with me. The weather men actually got there predictions spot on for a change and we we headed out on flat seas with sunny glimpses cruising all the way at about 20knots. After a little issue with Navionics playing up on the iPhone sending us past the mark we eventually anchored a bank in 90' of water. Turns out not to be Navionics fault but my new iPhone couldn't see the satellites so wasn't updating correctly (lesson Learned) Virtually zero tide running for a few hours but average sized Bream were caught from the off. Our club chair joined us on Y-Knot just as the tide was about to turn. We were not positioned quite right for the changing tide so re-anchored just as the tide began to run and bagged ourselves a better spot. Here we had a solitary Mackerel on the lazy line, several rays a nice Tope and more Bream The fresh Mackerel definitely upped our catch rate Thanks Tony and Graham for being such good sports and great company
  22. main channel speed limits are relaxed from 00:01 on the first October. All other areas the speeds limits ie quiet areas 6knots other areas 10knots including from Brownsea bell bouy to 1400 metres south of the ferry
  23. Congratulations Jim, I know how proud you must be. I've just come back of holiday and spent 10 glorious days with 3 of my grandchildren. Words cannot express the feeling you get when a 13, 16 and 18 year old grandchild enjoys spending time with you.
  24. Well done on persevering and making the most of what sounds like a borderline day. On the golf point the world is full of t*ats, it seems all were put here to annoy us with most being successful 😬
  25. I bet the pilot boat was doing more than the speed limit and even if he wasn’t speeding his wash would have nearly been as bad as my boat at 10 knots through the water
