  1. I wonder how much he wants for it.

Although, Sitting around in the sunshine, bobbing around on the water and even getting time to dangle a rod or two must be a horrible way to spend your days.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

If what you mean is where the fuel filling pipe is connected try looking at the kit car fittings.

You may have to use riv-nuts to fix the new fitting and I also used blue seal sealant on the gaskets to make sure it was fuel tight.

    Hope it helps

  3. Cheers all for the info

I thought I had an old mini flywheel pulley somewhere but need to have a deeper look.

Looking to borrow Jims puller if needed.

Dave, not sure size of bolts but look about 6 or 8mm with 3 holes

Will advise how I get on blink.gif

  4. Hi all

Has anyone a 3-leg pulley I can borrow as I need to remove the flywheel from my outboard. It is a Yamaha 40HP twin carb, old but works a treat.

It would need to be fairly large to get the legs under the flywheel.

I need to see where there is a break in the lighting coil as it is not charging and no output from the coil. :-(

    Many thanks

There has been a few threads on WSF of this engines on the 640 regarding props and if I recall most seem to go well on a 16" prop but not sure of the pitch.

If stainless steel I think the 17" worked best but they had to tweak the pitch.

So much depends on the amount of weight on the boat including people!.

  6. Hi all

    My three would be

    1. Restrictions (to start with) of netting within a set minimum distance from the shore of 1 mile with a gap between nets of at least 1/2mile

    2. All trawling within 6 miles from shore

    3. No discards, all fish caught count as part of total quota (may mean no msl)

I also have a copy of the Southern IFCA Bye-Laws and will post any useful info I can from it, you can read for yourself if you wish here http://www.southern-ifca.gov.uk/byelaws

Just food for thought, I have been looking at the minimum retaining size for fish as published by the AT compared to DEFRA. http://anglingtrust.net/page.asp?section=163

In some cases it seems we use smaller size than DEFRA which does seem crazy i.e.

    Dab DEFRA min 23cm

    Dab AT min 20cm

    Flounder DEFRA min - 27cm

    Flounder AT - 25cm

Perhaps the AT should up the minimum sizes to at least match DEFRA's minimum size or higher.

  7. Hi all

Bill, (known as Ferret), has asked me to post the sale of his dinghy, trailer and outboard.

It is a 3 seat GRP dinghy which is just over 9ft long and nearly 5ft wide, will seat 3 or 4 people but if used for fishing I would suggest 2 for comfort.

Comes complete with rowlocks & oars, anchor rope and anchor.

He also has a Seagull outboard, I think it is a 40 which is about 2+HP which is also available. It all sits on a light trailer which could do with a bit of a clean up and repaint.

    All sensible offers considered

    Contact Bill on 07958 705005

I have the Seagull stored at my home if anyone wishes to see it.

  8. Hi Jamie

As you say it was certainly cold.

Managed to get to Force 4 so Diane could buy my present, two new Auto lifejackets and a fuel filter/water separator, went out to lunch and then took Diane shooting. The idea being she could buy me a new gun while we were there, but she didn't take the hint.

    Brian

I know things are quite for fishing but using a gun to get your fish seems a triffle extreme! wink.gifwink.gif

  9. Hi all

A friend of mine recently replaced a seacock fitting to his boat but before doing so he did a bit of investigating as to which he should buy and found this very interesting article.

This is a report and findings of a flooding on a charter boat, Random Harvest out of Brighton in July 1999 but has some very good recommendations for all small boat owners.

Those of you who have their boat out now or about to do so, I would suggest you give this article a good read and check your craft for possible failure and other suggestions for improvements.

Link to article is here http://www.maib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?f...m%20harvest.pdf

Poole harbour and I suspect many other harbours where there are a few marinas with electricity supply available may well have similar issues with electrolytic corrosion.
