  1. Is the comp on tomorrow? Forecast shows F5-4 S in the morning (too much for me) and then decreases to F3 SSW by 6pm. Rain all day. Can't say I'm keen. BF
  2. By the way, theguyfulla is nothing to do with me or my family. BF
  3. Nicely done Martin. Sometimes enough is enough. BF

    Halloween Party

    Oh dear.
  5. Well done that man!!
  6. "Jim valiently gave the prize to 2nd place". Well, I'm even more baffled about why Jim entered himself into the comp if he didn't intend to keep the prize. He's affectively taken one person out of the final who would've loved a chance to win the boat. I have a lot of respect for Jim and his undoubted fishing talent. I must be missing something, here, cus' I can't see the logic. Anyway, a fantastic result for James. BF

    Clocks Go Back

Kaz has roped me into trying this 'yaking lark. She's got one of those short, funKayaks. I've borrowed an old "normal" looking Kayak. I thought it would be easy... Kaz is like a serene swan gliding up the river. I'm thrashing around in white water and foam behind her, deperately trying to keep up. Every 50ft I manage to put the boat into a spin!! Can't keep the damn thing in a straight line... Anyway, an hour later Karen has paddled about 6 miles with not a bead of sweat on her brow, and I've paddled about 36 miles and absolutley cream crackered. Think I'll try strapping my little 4hp on the back next time. (We were on the Stour at Spetisbury this afternoon. Rain had stopped at it was glorious. Kingfishers, Ibis, Swans, Buzzards. If only I had the strength to look around) BF

Coddy, Tried it both ways. Even emailed to them. Not a sniff of a response. Guess I'll have to pick up the phone and call them, but why should I need to?? BF

    Clocks Go Back

Ain't it nice getting up early om a wet blustery morning? It's even too bad to get the Kayaks out and take a stroll down the Stour. BF

    Wifi

Charlie, As Paul says, you can restrict who has access to your wifi network. The set up program takes you through this in very simple steps (without talking about MAC addresses, etc). I purchased a system made by Linksys. There was a problem with the unit, but I have to say that their email support was wonderful. I emailed on a Saturday evening and got a reply within an hour. I was shocked!! I emailed on a Sunday and got a reply the same day. They even followed up a couple of days later to see if I was happy. Great stuff. Wifi is great. Get it. BF
  11. Here, here, Martin. Sounds like one hell of a tussle. You did yourself and us, proud, James. Still not sure about Jim entering himself in the comp, though. BF

Been trying to renew my membership, but they don't seem to want my money. That's the second year in a row, now. BF
  16. Phew! That must've got the heart thumping. No matter how inocent you are, you always feel guilty when the law graps your collar. 'Onest, Guv, it weren't me...!" BF
  17. Think I'll give the comp a miss. Force 4 southerly is a bit too uncomfortable, gusting to F6. Drops in the afternoon, but I can only make an early start.

    Wifi

Isn't wireless communication a wonderful thing??? I'm sat here on the loo, reading the posts on the big bass. I'll leave it to you to image the sceen. cheers BF ps - its the only time I get to read the forum nowadays. Bloody work!
  19. Sounds better than reality.
  20. Sorry chaps. My last two trips to the States I was unable to source any of the nets. Florida had none. Don't bother to look in Bass Pro, Coddy. I was in Califorina last month and went back to the shop where I'd purchased them before. They only had 24" nets left. You need the 48" size. Owner said he did not know when he was getting the bigger nets and wasn't able to do mail order. Not sure when I'm back next. BF
  21. Shouldn't we all be wearing floatation suits in winter?? It's not just your warmth whilst on the boat, but more critcally the length of time you can survive should you find yourself in the water. BF

    Which one chaps

Matt, If nobody can get it cheaper anywhere else I will take some boxes if you don't want to keep all 12. I'd take upto 6. Cheers Bob
  24. Now that's a real sea-going boat. Nice one! BF
