According to the Notice to Mariners there's a South Cardinal Buoy.

I'll start a new thread then !!

Do everybody a favour and cut them off !
The real Pro's use a double buoy, surface and pickup.
Likewise floating rope, pull it all in and tie off or cut off !!

More to the point what are the marks for a surf reef which dries at low water and is only waist deep at high water ??
Notice to mariners ?
I haven't seen one !
How long before it appears on the charts ??
If I get rolled and drowned by a man made structure while at sea who pays ???

You wont be able to launch at Wick this weekend.
It's the Christchurch Rowing Club Regatta and they monopolise the slipway.

The red light cameras on the Holes Bay Road by Asda will now catch you if you exceed 30 mph through a green light !
Active as of today, first in the country apparently.

Launching from the old upper ferry slip is free but you'll have to hit and run cos there's no parking (accessible at any state of tide)
The best spots on the Skerries or Scary's will be marked by the boat park ! (the southerly end towards Start Point)
Watch out for the standing water (overfalls) off Start Point on a spring ebb (can be avoided close inshore under the lighthouse but mind the big rocks !!
Inshore in Start Bay the tidal flow is southerly towards the lighthouse even on the flood for 5hrs out of 6 due to eddy (who's eddy)
There's an inshore reef at Torcross (southern end) for Bass.
There's a series of reefs from the southern end of Beesands (white house, end of prom) to Hallsands which go out almost to the Scary's
Inshore under the radio masts between Hallsands and Start Point more reefs
Troll or plug for Bass inshore between Hallsands and Start Point
Start Point and Lannacombe Bay and anywhere in between inshore for Bass
I dived that area for 20 years !
Enjoy

Longshore Drift.
Thats why Poole built the new rock groynes at Branksome Chine to try and keep their sand as long as possible. ( Bournemouth just patch and pray)
The Bournemouth Bath Chair Brigade think a Surf Reef will solve everything even Boscombe ??
Then there is the Venturi effect. When the Swash and Middle channels were widened and deepened the flow exiting Poole Harbour was increased by ?
Increasing the flow, increases the suction (Venturi Effect) Hence the new groynes by the Haven Hotel and the loss of beach at Studland.
When I was a lad the East LOOE used to run like the Swash on the ebb (Bass City) but since they widened the Swash Eastwards and removed the bit of Hooksands in front of the Haven Hotel it all goes straight out.
I'm no expert just an observer
