  1. Forgot to leave my numbers here 01481 824884 or 07781 130304.
  2. I'll await the phone call with more details on the beds but pencilled it in for now. Tides early or late that weekend so no problem booking in for fuel. If you fuel Saturday it will need to be done by 9.00am to make sure you are away safely. Sunday an hour later etc. Suggest everyone does it early am so there is no need to rush back and spoil a good day afloat.
  3. Hi Guys, Yes its been a while since I've been here, thanks to Tom for pointing it out to me. If you've not anything booked for that weekend and need to get your head down we have vacancies at the moment. We have a courtesy car you can use as well. Either way I have stuck it in my diary so if it is a good weekend then if welcome I'd be only too pleased to buzz around with you guys for the weekend. Keep me posted and if I forget to look at the post someone send a reminder, cheers
  4. It is amazing that this sort of kowledge is about, thank goodness for scientists and the like other wise we might really be in the mire Seriously though like everyone else that uses the sea I cannot see why 20 years ago we could not learn from what our cousins were doing and we as a leading nation (HAHA) are stuck in the dark ages. Well done Mike for finding this and well done Paul D for extracting all that other info on the other threads, lets hope everyone else that is reading them finds them useful and act on them in some way.
  5. With regards to the bycatch thrown back to sea, Steve Souter was quite strong in his views and opinions on SKY Sports Tightlines last night saying how much of a set up it was. He made Joe Public aware of the fact that fishfinders are so far advanced now you can pick out the sizes of the fish/prawns and there is no need to drop your nets down till you find some prawns. Hopefully that will go some way to reversing peoples thoughts who were swaying towards the'plight' of the commercials.
  6. I thought the same as you guys about the return of the shark, seemed wastefull and pointless given that it was alive. I was told though in their defence that once on deck without using the lifting gear to get it back, which would have caused internal damage, there was no way of getting it back. Not sticking up for the guy, just trying to be balanced but I will finish on 'or was it just another pound of flesh to go towards the trip?' This one is a toughie unless someone else has some expert knowledge. However, as Tom pointed out it is amazing what is out there, if only we were braver to put the time in to find out what is swimming around our shores, certainly the Channel is full of bait fish this time of year.
  7. Meow Lion or Tiger? Actually I quite like HugeFernleyWhittingwotshisface. I'll probably give it a gander as I am sure watching him eat "starfish tartar"will be interesting, or does he actually have something like a real fish this time....? ...Nice bit of Bass, Bream, Turbot? That was exactly the point of the programme, to eat stuff which is a little unusual, even raw some of it.........I can't say more thna that cos it will spoil it for some people, suffice to say that nothing raw came from within a mile of 'Doyle'
  8. Oh yes, for sure.................what else would you wash that tasty food down with!
  9. Many of you will have Food, Fishing, Alderney all in common so watch Channel 4, 8pm on Thursday to see it all mingled together.
  10. But there is no chance of a result here is there?
