that's a pretty short list for 15 weeks Charlie.....sort of thing I have had with 15 days; and Martin's been at 15 hours with similar from memory laugh.gif

I am really hoping for some settled weather through May and June - co-incidentally I have just cleaned up the Cobb BBQ which I plan to bring (and use) this time!

I don't have a boat list - yet...

I am also really looking forward to this trip especially as the weather and family bits got in the way of Awol attending last year.

Anyhow the list of jobs to make Awol ready is as long as ever but mainly consist of:

Alter radar arch ready for radar (this week hopefully)

Remove the existing electronics cupboard as new kit won't fit in

Fit radar

Fit AIS transponder

Fit new plotter

Refit old A65 plotter along with sounder box

Renew Bimini covers

Service engine and leg

Repair several dinks in glass fibre

Repair some seating covers

Wash and brush up inside and out

Been down the boat this morning and removed the remote search light in preparation for some of the above works.

I'm sure I must of forgot some jobs but that will do for now rolleyes.gif

Looks like all of us are looking at all the spring jobs

my bits are starting to arrive, and the first coat of Volvo green paint went on this afternoon.

Tomorrow Sam and I are starting the poishing.

I hope that we all get them done in time and then the weather gods play ball so that we get across again.

Polishing??? (shudder! weep.gif )

What do you boys use? Personally I go around with the electric polisher with the foam head on and use Farecla G3 as a cutting compound. Then round again with Autoglym Polish / or carnuba wax on a cloth, before buffing the whole lot up with the electric polisher and lambswool head - takes a good 2/3 hours to do the whole boat! ohmy.gif

Same as you Adam although Martin Cobb (fibreglass specialist) has advised me that using coloured polish of the Blue variety or possibly clear definitely not white would be best on a blue hull.

Adam one of the great things of having Abode on a trailer, is that on those easterly windy days the sun is out and I have sufficient cider. biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif Out comes the polish I use Autoglym also and ??????( I will find out the name).

I use two indicators for this job. unsure.gif

One is if by the time I have Abode on the trailer and off the slip she is still wet then she needs polishing. biggrin.gif

And the other is armed with plenty of cider I wax and polish her until she appears as two!!!!!! huh.gifhuh.gif this is a problem as it is hard enough looking after one, so at this stage I go to sleep so the time equation is not known? biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif All I can tell you are that I often wake up complete with a sun tan good ha! wink.gif

And one other bit of information which has not been tried yet is DAZ I have been informed by Dave

JV now sits on a trailer - she is now dry stored.

My motivation is if I can find a long lunmch break away from the office in Poole - sat at work or polishing the boat! unsure.gif

I bet that does not happen often.

My Boat and Toms are right outside the office, but at times that makes it hard to be onboard in a working day

I am sure dry stacking her will help in many other areas though
