Some wonderful reports and pictures from those in Weymouth. Made two trips out of Poole Harbour over late Friday and Saturday AM and PM trying 5 different marks both of these were curtailled by the weather. Only one notable fish, a Red Gurnard of 1lb 10 1/2 oz (which was well photographed and weighed ashore on digital scales). Very little else wanted to play except for a small bass and a number of mackeral which seemed to be Bill's speciality. Several blow off marks were tried within the Harbour, but again, strong winds caused problems. Flounders weighing 1lb. 10oz. 1lb 8oz. and 1lb 7.5oz a few schoolies and several small wrasse completed the picture.

Well it looks like despite those who burnt several hundred litres of diesel caught well, the comp is being lead by a red gurnard caught inshore....

Keep em coming!

Congrats alan on the record. Just for fun how would a 15lb plus smoothound have faired? We had it take a shad and it rolled up the trace so we released it straight away. We have caught smoothied to 14lb before but this one was way bigger- it was lipped hooked and bleeding so we got it back in soon as pos

16 and 16.5 are the club records too - you shoudl have weighed it, but well done for being more concerned with the fishes well being.

You can always pop em in teh net and hold over the side for recovery then bring back onboard for weighing.

We could have done but it definitely looked like a she hound carrying pups so best toget her back in(besides she was bloody good at escaping the net trying to get her in!)

Well done to all above who managed to catch half decent fish .

I fished Friday evening and Saturday for targeted species which I thought would give me a chance in the comp but every thing seemed to be mini sized and included garfish, gurnard, bass, bream and mackeral. nothing to record from Dream Drifter sad.gif
