Rob Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Enjoying a read of Sea Angling News after a nice warm day with the family. I read Steve Porters report for Poole and was delighted to read the following: "I've just returned from a trip there (Alderney) with True blue. Whilst there I was impressed to see the arrival of many small boats from The Poole Bay Small Boat Angling Club. All working together for mutual support and safety. Crossing the channel can seem a daunting challenge but in the company of other boats it becomes a task that is easily achieved. If you have a small boat and enjoy fishing then take a look at www.pbsbac.co.uk. This is a very well run club that welcomes new members." Brilliant! Thanks Steve, a true friend of OUR club! Rob Quote
Maverick Martin Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Excellent and thanks Steve for all your help and support given freely to our club, it's much appreciated. You are a true ambassadeur for our sport and the port of Poole Martin Quote
Matt Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 And totaly acurate. Leaving from weymouth on our own we nearly bottled it, the camaradrie on the first night said it all- i'd not met anyone even on the web yet i felt at home(as well as completly nackered from the crossing) the vibe when fishing the good weather day was great regular radio chat advising how to catch( we only have a cabin vhf and i nicked a turbot on his rod whilst he was on the radio) Coming back was realy what showed the club spirit- we all suited and booted together- we had an offer to cross to poole and be driven back to portland which was great- whilst free boys is great we have only had her a few months and still getting to know her so it was good to have a plan b in the end we didnt have any worrying moments at all on the way back. So yeah we've based in felixstowe, pembrokshire, portsmouth and weymouth but pbsbac is the club to join! Quote
great white Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Nice one yet again Steve. Yesterday True Blue popped up out of the Fog on a wreck a long way from home, seeing that we had company on the mark by using radar Steve radioed to ask if we minded him joining us. It was slow for him so he moved on to find fish slightly west of us. But he gave us a call on teh way back to check we were OK, on hearing that Dave was towing us with a fouled prop, he offered to come and help Top man, an excellent skipper and friend to PBSBAC. niggle Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Steve told me that when he retires he wants to join our club and get a club sized boat! Quote
Graham Nash Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 I am out with him in a couple of weeks time, hoping to put some of Charlies teaching to good use :-). I am glad I seem to have picked a good skipper. Quote
