Crossy
Hi Folks, Looking at the forecast for Sunday it is showing 12 mph winds by lunchtime with gusts hitting 15 on XC. The current live buoy data from wavenet is showing 2m waves in the bay . Do we think it will be fishable over by the island or should I find something else to do with my Sunday? Crossy
Andrew I believe this will also be your first club comp? if so good luck.... well maybe not as much luck as me Martin Hi Martin, Yes, this will be and as long as the mut doesn't get sea sick (he has been fine before) then it will hopefully be a good day. Not sure of the MO though, do we need to register at a certain time or is it just turn up when you get there? Am planning on an early start. Have been fishing for Cod twice in the last month, first trip saw 2 smoothound to mid teens and the last trip saw a pair of Bass so on past form I don't think you have too much to worry about. Graham Nash
Andrew, from what I know you just register on the appropriate thread (on this forum) and go fish when you are ready. We are all friends here so it's done on trust. Rules state there must be 2 people on board (I dont think the dog counts as the 2nd person ). I have been toying with taking my dogs out with me regularly, I did take one of mine out once (the picture is on the home page) but he stood up looking over the side the whole of the time so I worried that he might go for a swim, which isnt too bad in the harbour but not so good while anchored in 100ft of water in a running tide. I must try again some time. Good luck. Graham
Maverick Martin
For booking in details read here The rules are 2 persons on each boat, the second person does not need to be a club member. You can fish any 7 hour period from 6am - 6pm this should allow those that launch and retrieve to pick a suitable period to fish. 2 rods max per entrant with a maximum of 3 hooks, a Penell rig counts as 1 hook so long as both hooks are in the same bait. If you say you caught it you did just remember to take the lowest consistent reading from your scales. Honesty is the name of the game and the club does trust its members BTW you can book in with any committee member. You can also book in on the day by calling on vhf ch6 calling "any Poole bay small boats" and book in with a committee member Martin
Wedger
Hope all you guys & gals had a wonderful day with a good few cod thrown in. Sorry we didn't join you to fish but had a great time with Chris my son, coming out to be nosey and see you all off 'the island' on my first full shake down trip after a re-power. Can't wait to see the results.

Mike Fox
Hi Martin, The rules you referred to above name me still. I had an interesting chat with a member last night who followed these instructions, but I think you might prefer to have a current committee member named instead. Happy to help in the meantime Mike
