Jamie W Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Hi, A bit on my vhf mount broke, the circle bit on the end.. It must be a old mount style, as i cant find them anywhere.. Anyone got one / the part they would sell me.. Pics below of one with and the one without.. Quote
Neal Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I had the same problem last year. None of the new brackets I found had the same hole centres as the old model and I didn't want to drill new holes in my cabin roof. I went to Pete at Quay West Chandlers (now in Parkstone Yacht Club) and we went through all the types of Arials and brackets to find the right bits so that I could put it all back together. He is extremely helpful and will often let you take the parts away and try them first - so that you don't end up wasting time and money! He's a top bloke and a club sponsor! Neal Quote
Jamie W Posted December 23, 2011 Author Report Posted December 23, 2011 Perfect neal, will ring and inquire.. You had the exact same reasons as me, dont want to redrill or pull the cable through (never be able to rethread it through the wheelhouse roof) P.s. @rob force 4 only do the new ones.. Quote
Adam F Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Jamie - if your struggling I'm pretty sure Ive got an old one same style in the box of bits in the workshop. PS: Regards re-threading it - simply tie and ducktape a length of heavy mono or strimmer cable to the old one as you pull it out - them you can attach the new cable and pull it back through.
