johnnyb. Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Anybody out there know if this boat polish with Ptef & teflon is any good . Reading the reports it looks like it is,even at Quote
great white Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Some of the more well off Yachties at work use it, they report good results It sure adds a shine to their boat hulls, but I am not sure how it compares with others Charlie Quote
johnnyb. Posted February 17, 2012 Author Report Posted February 17, 2012 Thanks Charlie, the info looks good if It really does last up to 6 times longer than normal wax. It would be a result if it repells bird s**t. Ive ordered a small bottle, will let you know how it goes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270852076897?ssP...984.m1423.l2649 Quote
duncan Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 I think they used to use Teflon, but have recently 'moved on' to PTFE under the natty trademark of PTEF. They both aim to do the same thing the same way. I don't believe they do one with both - but I may be wrong! Quote
johnnyb. Posted February 21, 2012 Author Report Posted February 21, 2012 The teflon polish arrived yesterday. It does exactly what it says on the bottle,Ive never seen my boat so shiney,It leaves a gloss only comparable to what I have seen on some of those old classic cars.she looks so good now,it has inspired me to try and get rid of a couple of scratches on the hull.T cut might do it,or perhaps I can get a touch up paint stick from Warriors.Expensive but I dont beleive you would get a better finish with cheaper products,Im a convert. Jim Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 If you're still happy in a month, I'll probably shell out and get some. ( You have to look after your garden ornaments y'know ) Jim Quote
Stuie Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 ( You have to look after your garden ornaments y'know ) That's the spirit Jim. On a more serious note it appears I'll have to buy some of this polish for Cabin Boy to try out. Quote

phonehome Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Just for interest, Teflon is the brand name given by the DuPont company for PTFE so would appear to be the same chemical.. Quote
