Adam F
I have bought a set of 12V DC L.E.D lights for the bathroom. I have a 240V AC source....I want to interconnect these two, so presumably I need a 204v-12v, AC - DC Transformer?? Am I right, and is this available easily and most importantly, cheaply? Paul D
Possible PSU for your lights. or try this ( assuming you only need 500 mA ) PSU or 2amp 12V PSU like this will do the job More powerful one
Adam F
Hmmmm, I also saw them...the 240V supply is bare wires and not a socket, therefore I need a transformer like the ones used for 12V downlighters, but supplying DC not AC. Afishionado
Have a look on the 'Screwfix' web site. They do loads of lighting stuff. Mad Mike
Coddy
Hi Adam What you need to know is the current draw (Amps) of the lights will be. The other thing to determin is are they DC or 12v AC? If DC you will need a rectifier to smooth out the AC cycle wave. I would suggest a trip to B&Q or a lighting store to see what they have available. DO NOT take the other half otherwise you will be in there for a least 3hrs+ and come out with loads of things to fit around the house. Alternitivly let her drive you down so you can pop in to save on car park fees! Regards Coddy
Maverick Martin
Bad news, you cant do that coddy, parking is free at B&Q Best go on your own
Newboy
Don't go to B&Q they will charge a fortune. Try someone like Wilts or John Cribbs. They are trade suppliers and will charge a lot less. What's more, if you take the lights with you they will be able to tell you which one to get.
