Navionics Gold - wanted

Does anyone have a relatively recent card for our local area they want to part with as I am buying my new Fishfinder / plotter in the near future.

It might help if you say which Plotter you're buying, people would then know what format you require.

as someone's pointed out it would help to know which plotter!

 

from memory Navionics used to have issues being used in more than one plotter, or maybe more than 2, is this no longer an issue?

Absolutely, but Barto said he's buying a new unit and surely it's less likely any of those will still use CF, which is a "dead" format to all intents now. I think new Garmin and Lowrance units (2 most likely options for a combined plotter/ff) all use SD cards.

fair point, although I don't think Garmin have used Navionics cartographu since they ported it to their G-Charts many many years ago.

 

Come to think about it a new Lowrance plotter would probably use microSD now.

 

Anyway, I think we all agree it's plotter first!

I have a humminbird 385 that would take navionics gold on an sd card but at 180 quid I can't afford it. I use the 20 quid app on my iPhone. Mind you, if someone is flogging one let me know.

I've got the new Lowrance HDS-5 which uses SD, the Lowrance Elite-5 uses MicroSD.

As I said, we need to know what plotter Barto intends buying.

Just as a side they can't be copied/ pirated so the slimmest of chances.

The unit I was thinking of going for was the lowrance elite 5 dsi. All it says is that it is navionics gold compatable.

I have a Garmin 4008 and it is a cracking bit of kit, you can download the latest software at any time so it keeps everything brand new.

Just updated my chart to 2012 at half price of a new chart and it is unblievable the difference it has made.
