Tomo Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Great for the fish....it'll be like 100 wrecks all in a row......and it stops the trawlers... Tomo Quote
codpiece Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 That simulation is not 8 or 10 miles off shore, it does not even pretend to be, ie- no earth curvature, the diminishment in height between mast images is a joke, but hey ho at least its not politicians this time being frugal with the truth. derek, Quote
Tiderunner Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 At least this group care about the visual and environmental impact a construction project of this magnitude will have on our local surroundings which will keep us better informed than Eneco will ever do. Wether this film is technically correct or not it has already made more of an impact than Eneco's own exhibiton images which were at best a poor representation of what could become the biggest wind farm in europe. codpiece Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 That is the whole point,, factual accuracy, not frugality with the truth to score points. there will be no visual or environmental problems, you wont see them at 8+ miles or only a pinhead on the horizon, Derek. Quote
great white Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I would like to see a picture of an existing wind farm , taken at 9 miles range on a good day. There must be some out there that would give a more accurate image of what would be seen. Perhaps I will ask on the WSF site IMHO the place where you would see the things most would be from high areas like Durlestone and the hills on the South of the Isle of Wight. Charlie Quote
Jsplace Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) Here you go Charlie, this may do the job. Wind farm image from distance Cheers Jason Edited April 26, 2012 by Jsplace Quote
charlieannear Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Go to Google maps and stand on the sea front at Whitstable here, you can see this wind farm: Kentish Flats Not sure how far away they are... Quote
codpiece Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Exactly Charlie, I think a good example of 9mls is probably, The Needles from Durleston or vice-verce,?? A bl@@dy long way even for Trevors newly invigorated boat!!! Derek. Quote

Stuie Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 |I don't know about them being a blot on the landscape - I can barely see the people on the beach in that attachment - let alone the wind turbines. They look like yachts in the far distance. I've seen far uglier sights walking down the streets. Quote
