Hey, I'm thinking of doing a bit of wrecking for pollack with a couple of mates, but un-sure what wrecks to try. I have marks for pretty much every wreck out there, but if anyone can suggest one or two of the better ones mid channel I would appreciate. Also, anyone got any numbers for southbourne rough for general fishing at anchor for a mixed bag? Pm me if anyone can help. I'l happily trade some of my Christchurch marks. (ps for wrecking, we will be heading out from lymo. Cheers. Dan

This time of the year most of the wrecks will hold pollock, they just get bigger the further offshore you go!

My wreck marks to the east aren't that extensive but wrecks like the Borgney, Venezualua etc are around 8-10 miles offshore and should hold smallish pollock. Once you start getting 20 miles plus out you start to hit the bigger fish and a better chance of cod. If you've got numbers for these wrecks, they can all fish on their day, it's just a case of trial and error really. If it helps, the Dumfrieis is the closest wreck that I would I consider fishing properly. This is also right on the edge of the rips / brittle star ground.

Hope this helps.

Like Adam I have only had limited success on the closer wrecks when drifting, but good sport at anchor.

However I expect that they would fish better if you had a day when the water clarity is good.

In my experiance that is what makes the differance when you go out the extra miles.

If you would like more info PM me
