Rob
Managed to get a few hours out on hols yesterday and this afternoon. Yesterday was windy and lumpy, but I managed plenty of maccy and a few bass to lures (all returned). Today I had some more time off for good behaviour, so grabbed 3 hrs. Had plenty of maccy again, I hooked 2 or 3 monster maccy on feathers and thought I had a lunker bass or two, I was using a heavy rod and had the drag up full! I felt some drop off and ended up with one, I haven't weighed it yet but I guess it is over a pound. Had some more bass two, when I got to the mark I shared it with 2 pro bass boats, I think I bled my own and on e they left the fishing got better. They obviously thought better of fishing yesterday, when I had found the 'hot spot' on the bank for myself. I guess they were using live sand eels, the sidewinders did me proud!!!! This is the maccy, next to a good sized eater normal maccy! Sunset on the way back in to harbour!!! R
Matt
Nice fishing Rob. The big maccies seem to have been in short supply this year- We have only had a couple of a decent size. Freeboyz did break our years bass duck last friday with a few fish off a wreck down west(very west for poole boats!) had a commercial boat sharing the wreck very sportingly when a dive boat came to ruin our day he came over for a chat and then invited us to follow him to his next mark. Best Bass was 5lb 8oz to me, also had pollack(all released alive) pouting, dogfish(ididnt reel in whilst we were cooking lunch) and a few small tope(small but fiesty even on heavy gear)
Rob
Forgot to mention, both days there were hundreds of birds on this mark. Gulls, ganets, gulliemots, skuas etc, even had guillemot follow my redgill to the boat. They seemed to be grabbing sprats that we're chased up by mackerel. I even had a grey seal watch me clean down the boat from 5m away. Not sure if the snorting was friendly or aggressive!!!

Rob
I tell, you nige, with 2 or 3 on the feathers on my 30lb ray rod, I was struggling!!!!!! If only they were all that size, on a light spinning outfit they wouldn't half pull!!! R
