Coddy Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Hi all Last week-end I brought back some defrosted squid and cuttle to mash down for ground bait ready for next year. Problem is the bag leaked a bit of the jucies onto the back carpet in the car! What is the best stuff to clean the carpet and freshen it up with, as the FPO is complaining!!! Dave Quote
Guest Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I found getting rid of the FPO was the easiest way Quote
lofty Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I'm gonna regret saying this FPO???? .......WTF ? That pink carpet spray is good and febreeze will do it Quote

Rob Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Torch the car - that ain't every going to go!!! FPO removal sounds even more expensive! I think you need some anti-bacterial cleaner and hot water (detol or similar), then go down the Fabreeze smell nice route! Unlucky Dave. Rob Quote
Guest Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 buy her some expensive perfume to wear when shes in the car :-) Quote
Mike Fox Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Put the car into auction.....sold as seen Mike Quote
Newboy Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 If you have no luck with febreeze etc, try this Mix 50/50 vinegar and water, spray onto carpet, work into and wipe clean. The car will smell of vinegar for a few days but once that clear, that should clear the smell too. I had some fish 'water' drip onto carpet from the shetland trip and used this trick to clear the smell. Quote
Jim Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Jacqui's sister did us a tray of chicken & veg. She covered it in foil, put newspaper under it and said " be careful it's prety full ". I put it in the rear footwell of my car ( still hot ). Yes - - - - - - it went everywhere. Smelled lovely for a couple of days Then it smelled horrible. I've scrubbed and washed and scrubbed and washed and scrubbed and washed and scrubbed and washed. Then I got the carpet up a bit and flushed water through and mopped it out - - - - - about 5 times. I've got the carpet wedged up in the air to help dry it out at the mo. It's nearly O.K. but I quite fancy the Vinegar option if it still smells in a week or so Is your BUM sore from kicking youself Dave ? ? ? Mine is ! ! The car's only 12 months old too. Oh Well ! ! ! ! ! Jim Quote
