Looking at running down to Portland late March for the flatties.

I will do it in a day, but if the weather is good might make it a 2 dayer and overnight in Portland.

If its a two dayer, I'd favour and Fri and Sat.

Anyone else fancy it?

How late in march Adam? Are you thinking bank holiday weekend?

I hope to do a trip middle of the month due to the success that was had last year with a couple of 30lbers

Whenever really? Looking at my records last year the fishing was good end of march. I'd rather not risk a trip too early if they aren't there so will monitor the charters rather than make a decision on dates now?

I'm definitely interested in this trip but two things will decide when I go

1st is Dean is not back from holiday until tomorrow so can't find out his plans until Monday at the earliest and 2nd tides, haven't checked them yet but I would not plan to go fighting large tides

If someone who knows the area and its March Fishing, can sort out which tides are best and post dates that would be a great help.

as I need to look at Work and Family commitments, prior to looking for crew

Prefer to run down and then towards home  with the tide if possible  ;)

A two day trip sounds good, either overnight in Weymouth or Portland

If the banks are slow, or my crew mutiny. I  may reserve the right to change plans on day 2, to a bit of wrecking

I'm not the world's expert on Portland tides but we're booked with Chris Caines on 4th April, based on good tides for the flatties. I'm guessing therefore that the weekend of the 23/24th March will be similar tides. That would give you a run down with the tide on Sat am and back on the tide on Sun pm. If the weather's good we're planning to go then as well.

An executive box. You will, enjoy it, but lets hope their results improve. Lost 2 0 tonight :(

I think that particular game I can't make. If it is the Bury game.

I'm going to start making plans around the 22/23rd March. Down on Friday back on Sat - leaves me Sun with the family.

Just over a week till this trip. Any more interest?

I'm thinkinf of combining it with a wrecking trip, back into Portland and then Shambles, or the other way round?
