I don't think it does. But if you want to keep your house, only an idiot wouldn't insure and then hurt someone!

 

I hope your boat hasn't been damaged by another craft!

I think you will find it is a requirement to have 3rd party insurance to use a boat in Poole harbour and probably all other Harbours.  Some slipways require sight of insurance cover but I don't believe any in Poole ask for proof of cover.

Certainly the Council-run slips out West require proof of 3rd party liability cover as a condition of use. Their reasoning is if you caused injury and weren't insured, liability for damages may quickly move back up the food chain to the Local Authority.

Ditto at Christchurch.....you have to send proof of 3rd party liability insurance when applying for the Mudeford season ticket....but if you pay on the day launch, they never ask !

In Keyhaven, we have to show proof every year of 3rd party insurance for £3m to keep the boat on a swinging mooring.  The reasoning is that if someone, rather than something, gets damaged a claim of £1m+ is not unusual.
