Coddy Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 I was asked the other day about the speed restrictions in Poole Harbour. The details are quite clear: The speed limit of 10kts & 6kts in the Middle Ship and North channels is lifted from 1st October to 31st March. There is a Mariners Notice from Poole Harbour Commistioners about this http://www.phc.co.uk/downloads/notices_mariners/2013-33-poole-harbour-speed-limits.pdf What the notice is saying is that the speed limit is dropped from where the Wareham channel enters the harbour all the way to Brownsea Castle in the Middle Ship Channel and North Channel. From Brownsea Castle going seaward 1400 metres of South Haven Point the 10kts STILL APPLIES! All the remaining areas in Poole Harbour stays at the limit of 6kts Don't forget that the harbour patrols do prosecute speeding craft and the fines can be VERY heavy! Dave Quote
Jim Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Thanks Dave. We can't afford to be paying fines. We've got boats to fund ! ! ! Cheers. Jim Kingfisher 126 1 Quote
