Matt
I was starting to get excited but the new job and new boat plans are rather getting in the way at present! All bad timing! new boats fine its just the job.causing me problems!
Adam F
The hair is just a continuation of the trace line. Basically you tie the main hook on and leave a long tag and then tie the flyer to that. However the trick is the knotless knot that enables the flyer to sit neatly and in line. great white
I just snell mine on Adam, using a 3/0 pennel hook with the offset eye, I also use a bigger trailing hook than you sugest, mine are size 6 carp hooks So I may have missed refinements since we went together in 2008.Who knows how many fish that has cost me over all of the years since LOL
niggle
I use a small treble as the stinger
Rob
I use a not so small circle hook, probably equivalent to carp hook size 4.
Adam F
Size 4 or 6 is about right, carp hooks work nice as they are short. It's worth learning the knotless knot as it has 100% knot strength and is so simple and quick
plaicemat
I may be missing something here but, from our slightly courser viewpoint, isn't that the same as snelling and leaving a longer tag but the opposite way round? Still the same knot strength but no having to attach the top line. As I say, probably missed something. Terry.
Rob
Yes Terry - i think one is the upside down version of the other!
great white
Where is Rob Fuller when you need him By now we would have had an animated drawing to look at. The way I tie it could not be simpler, but now I am starting to worry about weakening the Flourocarbon. Charlie

Kingfisher 126
You've started something now Charlie!!! Do we want to make the meet up Monday evening as it's Bank Holiday will this fit with others? Steve says it's best for him, makes no odds to me. Would be good to sort asap so the weekend fishing can be planned in!!
duncan
Where is Rob Fuller when you need him By now we would have had an animated drawing to look at. The way I tie it could not be simpler, but now I am starting to worry about weakening the Flourocarbon. Charlie use stronger flurocarbon! more seriously, any weakness in the rig will relate to - 1. the use of, and nature of, an eye on the top hook 2. the ratio of the diameter of the wire of the hook and the diameter line for the first drop....after that it will be damage to the line just above the hook unless you replace it after every bite
