mw Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 Does anybody use tube heater in the winter to keep cabin dry if so what size do you use? mark Quote
fisherman1055 Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 Screwfix do a little 70 watt heater for £16 ish works for me when I heat the boat not on all the time Quote
gjb Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 I am just going to put a dehumidifier on the boat it turns its self on and off and runs if required and warms the air by 10 to 12 degrees and will drain out through the sink well that's the plan Graham jerry.shutter and Maverick Martin 2 Quote
Maverick Martin Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 I have the same arrangement as Graham but also have 2 small tube heaters for under the engines. The dehumidifier is on all the time as it turns itself on and off depending on humidity the heaters are only put on in really cold conditions gjb 1 Quote

Rob Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 If you have one you need Desiccant dehumidifiers as the refrigeration type do not work in cold conditions. Quote

Mike Fox Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 I've used a 450W greenhouse heater for the last 20-odd years. Cheap to buy, has a frost setting, where it only kicks in when it drops below 5 degrees. Jim and Maverick Martin 2 Quote
great white Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 The same leads are available from rolec marine services. jerry.shutter and Jim 2 Quote
