charlieannear
On the Bream Comp(s) on Sunday, I discovered that my Rapala, up to 50lb, digital scales have packed up. Put in a new battery- still no joy. Took them apart and there's a big sealed unit side, so there's nothing that I can test/fix. So what do you guys recommend these days? ⚖️ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Neal
The ones supplied by the club as prizes and in my opinion the best ones are the Salter Brecknell Digital Hand Held Digital Scales They are used at all our and Poole Sea Angling Centre Weigh-ins. I also use mine to weigh luggage when travelling. They do 3 weight capacities 10 Kg (22 lb) 25 Kg (55 lb) 45 Kg (99 lb) The 25 Kg is the most popular and covers most of what we are likely to catch. Rob
I have replaced the batteries in my 10yr old Berkeleys a couple of weeks ago. They have been accurate and great. Adam just bought a new set, seem good too. £20 v £55 for the ones Neal is mentioning. And the Berkeley ones are much smaller. Gummage
If you are talking about the breknell electro Samson in my experience they don't like getting wet . I cleaned mine a bit over enthusiastically with a wet cloth and the switch circuits went haywire and didn't recover. I read some online reviews and it seems a common cause of their demise. But hey, if you don't let water splash inside your boat they'll be fine!
condrew
I have a Reuben 9000. It is solid, compact and so far accurate.
