Andy135
I'd like to invest in a PLB - clearly I hope never to need to use it, but just in case... can any one recommend a particular make & model? The ACR ResQLink seems to be well marketed, and their replacement offer is tempting. Any others I should consider?
Rob
I have ResQLink, never used it, not planning to!!!Rob Jim and Tarlach.
Duncan F (bathclaret)
Tbh they are pretty much all the same functionally. Size varies, so find a small one with a long battery replacement interval. I’d be very happy with an ACR or a McMurdo (which is what I use). Mike Fox
Also consider if it's waterproof and can float (even if it needs a "jacket"), and can be readily attached to a lifejacket in a pouch or similar. Some are designed for mountaineers who are unlikely to be stuck in seawater miles offshore, hoping for a lifeboat to find them. 2006holmwood and Andy135
Jim
Do they float?
Rob
Do they float? Some do and some don't. If they do they tend to be a bit bigger to host the buoyancy. So mine is in a pouch that gives it buoyancy and it has a lanyard to my LJ just incase.R Jim

Andy135
Thanks all for your input - appreciated. Just ordered the ACR ResQLink. Turns out Force4 are offering a free strobe light with each purchase. Here's hoping I never, ever need to use it...
