Tarlach Too has developed a hole in her turbo housing? Can this be repaired properly? And by repair I mean a fix that will last, not a plaster!

Thanks my learned colleagues !

If you can get the numbers from the Turbo then try matching to a car one would be cheaper
New car turbos are about £600 .
Exchange are about a hundred pounds cheaper let me have make and numbers and I’ll try to see if I can get you one

If you have the engine manufacturer, year, model and horsepower i would think you could find find the turbo details from that as I don't believe marine engines have many variables due to low production runs

You’d think so wouldn’t you Martin.
I’ve looked up my engine and there are 3 different part numbers for the turbo !
I’ll just have to go take it off and try to find a data plate .

Thanks, but I’m now resigned to a new unit.

Hi Neil, have just caught up with this, I feel for you .I had to replace my turbo 3 years ago, you kind of go into shock as the thousands mount up. Anyway it is always worth it when the boat works again.I feel for you.

Thanks for your kind words. I’m over it already. More concerned about potentially missing out on non cod season!
